Did you know that the Scout truck was the official vehicle of the U.S. Ski Team from 1975 to 1976? The team was provided 17 Scout vehicles in special livery for the 1976 Olympics, playing a key role in supporting our U.S. athletes. This legacy of strength, reliability, and performance continues to inspire us at Scout Motors as we revitalize the legend that defined the modern SUV and found fame in America. As the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony kicks off, we wish #TeamUSA the best of luck in the #Paris2024Olympics from all of us at Scout Motors! #TheWorldNeedsScouts
About us
Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work. To be a Scout isn‘t just to be a part of a company, it‘s to be a visionary and a leader, someone who seeks new paths and imparts lessons learned to others, leading them forward to new horizons. Here at Scout Motors, we‘re carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960, one that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and will do so once again. Together with the help of our community, we’re designing, engineering, and building the next generation of electrified trucks and rugged SUVs for the doers and the ones who can’t be held back. For the ones who roll up their sleeves, push forward, endure the elements, and get the job done. No frills, no excuses, no quitting. We are growing every day and are seeking the next generation of Scouts to join our ranks. So, to all the hard workers out there, the ones who are willing to carry on the Scout legacy, reimagine an American icon, create jobs for Americans, and lead the charge into the future of electrified trucks and rugged SUVs, we‘re calling on you to join us. Because #TheWorldNeedsScouts.

We're on an exciting journey to build the next generation of Scout vehicles for the makers, doers, and everyday explorers. For the scout in all of us. At the center of achieving our milestones with unwavering operational integrity lies Physical Security. We're fortunate to have a dedicated and passionate leader like Wendy Bashnan, Director of Security and Fire Protection, spearheading this effort here at Scout Motors. Her commitment to creating a secure environment drives us to push innovative boundaries, while ensuring we deliver safe and reliable solutions for the next generation of Scout drivers. As a longtime South Carolinian herself, Wendy has a deep passion for our efforts in the Greater Columbia Area, pointing out that breaking ground on our new Production Center in Blythewood is a highlight in her Scout Motors journey thus far. If you’re a tourist, Baja California is a most delightful place. But if you’re an off-road racer, Baja can be a special kind of hell. Scouts like Sean Barber of Iowa-based Anything Scout, have been tackling this wicked terrain at the Mexican 1000 since the 1960s. Unfortunately for Sean, he quickly learned how cruel Baja can be when he put a 1976 Scout Terra to the test at the 2024 NORRA Mexican 1000.
