Jerome and Wanda Hart created their philanthropic fund with us in 1986 to support charitable causes important to them. After they passed, their children and a committee of extended family and community members continued to recommend grants from the fund to honor them. “Serving as an advisor on our parents’ charitable fund keeps their memories alive,” shares Jamie, one of the Harts’ children. In 2024, the committee awarded $243,000 in total. Recipient organizations include the Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado County, Fairytale Town, Skate MD, Yolo Crisis Nursery, and many more. Last week, we gathered with our Philanthropic Advisors' Forum of Greater Sacramento for an interactive session of charitable case studies. We got to hear from expert panelists, Jeb Burton of The Burton Law Firm and Kristin Capritto of the Downey Brand, and how they approach opportunities to benefit their clients. We thank all who came to spend some time with us!
