Our fire investigation services are built on a solid foundation of the knowledge and experience earned by our experts during the evaluations of thousands of fires and explosions. New experts who join our team have the privilege of learning from these veteran #consultants, which helps to equip them with the skills necessary to tackle even the most challenging #forensic fire investigations. Bill Soyk and Mark Dooley, two of our most seasoned and respected fire origin and cause consultants, have recently retired. Below, you’ll find details on the qualified and highly skilled consultants taking over for the regions Bill and Mark previously covered. Michael Dettman, NAFI-CFEI, IAAI-ECT, FIT, holds numerous certifications for the investigation of fires and explosions, as well as evidence collection and the handling of hazardous materials. He has served as a Fire Chief and boasts an in-depth knowledge of #FireCodes, suppression systems, and building construction. Scott Fox, IAAI-CFI, has an extensive background in the areas of firefighting and the investigation of fires, crime, and fraud. He is certified for fire investigation, firefighting, arson investigation, and in the handling of hazardous materials. He is currently a Captain in the Omaha Fire Department Fire Investigations Unit and a sworn police officer with the Omaha Police Department. Brian Giachino, IAAI-CFI, holds certifications in the investigations of arson and fires and is a hazardous materials technician, bomb technician, and drone pilot. He has more than 30 years of public safety experience, holding numerous ranks for the Cedar Rapids Fire Department in Iowa, including as a member of the Hazardous Devices Unit Bomb Squad.
