We are incredibly saddened by the loss of Cedric Huntley. Every so often, a leader emerges who understands how to navigate and address complex issues, such as community violence, with pragmatism and compassion. Cedric was that leader. We were proud to induct him into the Criminal Justice Hall of Fame in 2023 for his lifetime commitment to making our communities safer and ensuring that justice & peace were prioritized. He may no longer be with us, but his life’s work and legacy live on.

Today, AG Neronha visited PACE Organization of Rhode Island's new flagship center / headquarters in East Providence to check out their amazing work caring for older Rhode Islanders. PACE tailors care plans to individual needs through a range of services, all while helping older Rhode Islanders live safely at home. Organizations like PACE help reduce the strain on long-term care facilities by meeting older Rhode Islanders where they're at, literally and figuratively. More info: https://pace-ri.org

Today, AG Neronha attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Butler Hospital’s new Short Stay Unit, which will help alleviate overcrowding in hospital emergency rooms while providing appropriate, specialized support to those in need of behavioral health care. Our Office recovered more than $330M in cash and life saving medicine from those who profited from the opioid epidemic, which continues to harm RIers. Ensuring that patients with substance use disorders & other behavioral health needs are properly cared for is important. Congrats on this amazing milestone.
