It was a joy to celebrate the commencement of operations for North Fork Solar Project, now the largest operating solar project in Southwest Power Pool and Oklahoma, with our partners who made it possible. This summer, our North America team is lucky to have a talented group of #interns at our office in #Austin, Texas. The interns are quickly learning about Recurrent and the renewable energy industry through hands-on training and leadership development opportunities.    Recently, our interns were given a tour of Canadian Solar Inc.'s Manufacturing Facilities in Mesquite, Texas. This tour gave them insight into the ins and outs of #module manufacturing and CSI’s growing #solarmanufacturing presence in the US.   Our interns have excelled in their respective departments already, and we can’t wait for them to see what the rest of the summer has in store for them! #NationalInternDay

We are thrilled to announce the successful financial close of a €50 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This loan will support the development and construction of a solar energy portfolio in Italy, enhancing the country’s renewable energy capacity and contributing to #Europe’s goals for reduced emissions and increased energy independence. This is a pivotal step towards becoming one of the world's largest Independent Power Producers while aligning with the EIB’s lending priorities on renewable energy, climate action and social and economic cohesion. We are very pleased to announce that, following public consultation, examination and a recommendation for approval by the Planning Inspectorate, the Secretary of State for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in the #UK, has granted us the Development Consent Order (DCO) for the Mallard Pass Solar Farm. This 350MWp solar project is part of Recurrent Energy's multi GW solar and BESS UK pipeline under development in partnership with Windel Energy. ✅ This consent marks an important milestone for both Recurrent Energy and the UK, marking a significant step in the country's journey towards building a more robust and reliable renewable energy supply. We are pleased to announce that Recurrent Energy has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with GKN Automotive, the global leader in drive systems. This marks the automotive supplier’s first #PPA in Europe, representing a significant milestone in their strategy to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2045 ✅.   Under this PPA, Recurrent Energy will supply clean, renewable energy through its 115 MWp Rey I project, supporting GKN Automotive’s growing energy needs in the region. We thank GKN Automotive for their trust and we are excited about the environmental and operational benefits this agreement will bring. Our North Fork Solar Project – the largest #solar project in #Oklahoma– is now producing power!    North Fork is also the largest operating solar project in Southwest Power Pool’s 14-state footprint!    And, North Fork Solar marks our first production tax credit transaction and first tax credit transfer transaction. We signed the facilitation with Bank of America.   Yesterday we joined project landowners, OMPA, Blattner, Southwest Power Pool and local elected officials to celebrate the 160 MW project which is now producing enough power annually for about 35,000 homes!    As one official said, “This is a big deal and in Oklahoma we like big deals!”   Thank you to all of our project partners for your dedication to this project and for being there to celebrate with us.   More here: https://lnkd.in/gyQ5ApgC
