Our teams had an incredible time celebrating PRIDE last month, immersing themselves in activities that celebrated the theme, "Our Pride, Our Prologis." An insightful global panel discussion featured #PrologisPrideNetwork (PPN) member stories about embracing their identity at Prologis and beyond. Employees created beautiful works of art and learned about the LGBTQIA+ community. Our Tokyo team even welcomed LGBTQIA+ inclusivity expert Ayumu Horikawa to discuss how to be an ally in the workplace! PPN chose to donate to Free Mom Hugs, which advocates for equality for the LGBTQIA+ community by providing resources, education and support at community events. We are happy to collaborate with the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) to create a blueprint for decarbonizing existing buildings! In 2023, 96% of our eligible new projects achieved (or are in the process of achieving) sustainable building certifications, including ILFI certification. In fact, our Eindhoven DC4 property was the first-ever industrial building to earn ILFI's Zero Carbon certification! Onward and upwards to a more sustainable real estate industry!
Without a doubt, Prologis is paving the way for decarbonization in our industry. Our team has worked hard to decarbonize our industrial real estate portfolio, and we have learned a great deal throughout the process. The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) has just announced a new update is coming to its carbon program. They have asked us to share our learnings with them to inform the changes. The current standards were specifically created for new buildings, and we have certainly leveraged them to develop properties, like Eindhoven DC4. Once the change takes into effect next year, there will be a pathway for decarbonizing existing assets. This is an important step forward in decarbonizing the real estate industry, and I am pleased that we have the opportunity to share our expertise, alongside partners Amazon, JLL and JPMorganChase. https://lnkd.in/gFcx-xaZ

The 18-hectare (44-acre) property is fully in line with our decarbonization strategy: it is equipped with 14,000 solar panels and has earned sustainable certification from BREEAM and BioDivercity. +++ C'est maintenant officiel ! 73 different animal species live around the L'Oréal distribution center in Muggensturm – and that’s very intentional. Our customer, L’Oréal, has an ambitious sustainability program called L’Oréal for the Future, with a goal of having a positive impact on biodiversity at 100% of its sites worldwide by 2030. We are happy to help them progress that ambitious objective for the distribution center in Muggensturm, which just earned a gold certificate from the DGNB German Sustainable Building Council for fostering biodiversity in its outdoor areas. The site in Muggensturm is L’Oréal’s largest logistics center worldwide, and it might also have the most ecologically innovative roof in the industry. There are 7,400 solar panels on its rooftop, producing enough energy to power the customer’s operations. The roof’s greenery is home to animals like skylarks, the endangered green grasshopper and the blue-winged grasshopper. It also houses a complex water management system that collects rainwater for irrigation, cleaning and flushing toilets. We were happy to help our customer make this project a reality!
