    𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭 This morning, I tuned into the PreSales Collective Podcast with Diana Cappello and Chris Mabry. Their discussion on building inclusive hiring benches resonated deeply with me and inspired me to create this Venn Diagram to visualize how my educator skills transition to success in solution consulting. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 Diverse perspectives are essential for tackling complex technical challenges in tech sales. Here’s how my background as an educator bridges the gap and adds value to a sales team: 1. 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 & 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐳𝐞𝐫 As an educator, I excelled at explaining complex concepts to students with different learning styles. This experience honed my ability to break down information, analyze its value, and tailor communication for various audiences – critical skills for understanding client needs and presenting relevant solutions in tech sales. 2. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 I championed project-based learning, where students collaborated to solve real-world problems. This approach fostered teamwork, communication, and the ability to identify the root cause of issues – perfect for tackling intricate sales challenges with a diverse team. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 Just like I actively sought diverse learning resources for my students, I'm eager to join a sales team that actively seeks diverse talent and approaches the market with a well-rounded perspective. 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 Are you looking for creative ways to build an inclusive and successful team? PreSales/Solutions folks are under even more pressure - we gotta hit the number while the product is changing, our buyer's lifecycle is changing, and our peers are pushing even harder. Last week: Brandi Anderson layed down some truth on Imposter Syndrome:   "I don't believe in grit...I believe in practice. It's about getting up every day and going 'alright, one foot in front of the other.' It's a lot of self-compassion as well."
