Pretty sure we’re going to be riding the feel-good wave from this year’s NYC Pride March all the way to next June! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us on the pavement this year. What an incredible group. We loved seeing your signs, your style, and your spirit, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!

Today kicks off Nonbinary Awareness Week! 💛🤍💜🖤 Nonbinary folks have gender identities that fall outside the gender binary, meaning a nonbinary person's gender identity can't be described as exclusively man or woman. Beyond that, nonbinary people encompass an infinite number of experiences and expressions when it comes to style, pronouns, descriptive language, transition choices, gender euphoria/dysphoria, etc. Because being nonbinary is so diverse, there's no way to know if someone is nonbinary unless they're open with you about their identity. Just like it's important not to make assumptions about a person's sexuality, it's equally important not to make assumptions about their gender. We celebrate all the different ways to be nonbinary and advocate for a world where people of every gender are treated with the same level of respect and empathy! 🫶🏽 #NonbinaryAwarenessWeek

Registration is officially open for our inaugural LGBTQ+ Interfaith Allyship Summit! ⛪️ 🌈 🕌 In the LGBTQ+ community, religion and faith can be painful topics, as LGBTQ+ people have often been excluded from religious spaces, ceremonies, and communities. We at PFLAG NYC want to let people know that they do not have to give up their LGBTQ+ or allied identity to feel belonging in and connection to their faith. But how does a faith community foster space to help LGBTQ+ people find that fullness in themselves? How can faith communities show up in affirming ways beyond baseline acceptance? Our LGBTQ+ Interfaith Allyship Summit seeks to begin answering those questions, and we hope you'll join us at Grace Church School on Saturday, August 24 to engage with them. To learn more about the Summit and register, please go to the 🔗 in the comments below. In consideration of different levels of financial privilege, we are offering three ticket tiers for the Summit on a sliding scale—a $10 ticket, a $25 ticket, and a $50 ticket. p.s. Workshop proposals and tabling submissions are still open for applications until June 28!

Over the course of a transformative 10-week journey, our team poured our hearts and minds into crafting innovative solutions and strategies. I am incredibly proud to announce that out of 9 talented teams, we had the honor of securing the second place! 🥈🎉 Shout out to all of the teams that participated…your hard work is noticed. A heartfelt thank you to my incredible teammates, Amir Amerian, Nicole Saakov and Mikaela Callahan. Our advisor, Samuel P. Lalanne and coach, Natalie G. Hey PFLAGers! We want to bring *your* voice to our social media for Pride! We've put together a survey with a handful of prompts to respond to for you to share your pride as an LGBTQ+ community member or loved one. You can answer one prompt, a few, or all of them—it's entirely up to you. You'll also have the option to remain anonymous with your answers if you prefer not to be attributed by name. Check the comments below to access the survey. We've extended the deadline to May 26th for submissions, and we can't wait to hear from our community. 🌈💖
