🌟 Ain't no stopping us now! We've been dancing our way through every Monday night this summer. Each week, when we gather together, we are reminded of the joys of friendship and the simple but powerful acts of play. No matter what hardship or difficulty life throws at our neighbors, there is often an equal amount, if not more, of joy to be found in the streets. We learn how to carry heaviness together as a community. Through the heaviness, we also learn how to hold the laughter together. Monday Nights are our chance to create a safe, warm environment for everyone to gather. For some, it's a time to seek out much-needed immediate resources, prayer, or medical assistance. For others, it's a time to reconnect with old friends, laugh with others, and dance! Our community is so rich, and we're grateful to be a part of it. Let's hear it for our Food Team Volunteers! Week after week, we have an incredible group of individuals of all ages who show up to prep hearty meals for all our outreaches for the entire week. We have teams that carefully pack the meals, load them into vans on Monday night, and hand-deliver them to our neighbors with love. And let's not forget the brave individuals who help clean our dirty dishes! We are so grateful to our food team volunteers and their endless commitment to our Nashville neighbors. Their selflessness, dedication, and tireless efforts are truly inspiring. 🌞☀️ With temperatures soaring and the summer heat relentless, it's essential that we come together to support our unhoused neighbors on the street. The numbers have been dangerously high, and we haven't even said anything about the humidity yet. We're working hard at our outreaches to provide immediate relief during these summer months. We've set up cooling stations, distributed snowcones, provided tents for shade and water stations, and handed out cooling rags, and water bottles. You can also easily make an impact just by driving around in your car! One simple yet impactful way to help is by giving a $5 gift card! This small gesture not only provides someone with access to a fresh meal but also offers relief from the sweltering summer heat. Many places will only allow individuals to stay if they purchase something, making a gift card a valuable tool to bring much-needed comfort and respite. Another creative idea is to keep a cooler of frozen water bottles in your car, which you can easily administer around town. Whether you can donate summer items (check out our post on specific summer items needed), volunteer your time, or contribute financially, every act of kindness helps us continue our mission of compassion and care. June brought the heat, but it also brought the snow cones! It’s looking like it’s going to be a hot summer. Already, we’ve had several extremely hot days. We are so grateful to everyone who has been spreading the word about how to keep our neighbors cool this summer. This community continuously pours out and creatively gives in so many ways! Together this month: 2,466 Meals were made and delivered 2,430 Units of clothing were selected 60 Connections to Resources were received As of June, six people have been permanently housed!! Thank you for your continued support, volunteering, donating, and praying. We are so grateful to our vast, supportive PLN community and all that is provided, prayed for, and given each month. Thank you!
