Today, we announced the 510(k) clearance and the first U.S. implant of our Fitbone™ Transport and Lengthening System. This innovative device is the only intramedullary nail designed to transport or lengthen the bone through a single surgery in the treatment of large bone defects in the femur and tibia for conditions caused by trauma, infection, or malignancy. Dr. David Frumberg, an orthopedic surgeon and Director of the Limb Restoration and Lengthening Program in New Haven, CT, who performed the first U.S. implantation calls it a "game-changing new option" for challenging cases. This milestone reinforces our commitment to expanding surgical options for hard-to-treat conditions in trauma care. We're proud to continue innovating and advancing solutions that can significantly impact patients' quality of life. Did you know that the fracture repair process has four stages: inflammation, soft callus formation, hard callus formation, and remodeling? It's pretty cool that low-intensity pulsed ultrasound treatment (LIPUS) can speed up healing at every stage, especially when used consistently throughout the process. It's amazing how technology like LIPUS can help with the healing process. Learn more at: https://ow.ly/7kmk50SqmcJ

A recent study by Striano et al. (2024) published in The Spine Journal reveals an alarming concern about radiation exposure during adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) surgery. The findings show that conventional intraoperative CT navigation systems can increase a patient's lifetime cancer risk by up to 236 times compared to traditional fluoroscopy. This means that nearly 1 in every 1,000 children undergoing AIS surgery could face this serious risk. We are proud to offer the 7D FLASH Navigation System™ – a groundbreaking solution that eliminates radiation exposure. This technology empowers surgeons with the precision and efficiency of navigation while prioritizing the safety of patients and medical staff. This Scoliosis Awareness Month, let's come together to advocate for safer, radiation-free surgical options. By embracing innovative technologies like the 7D FLASH Navigation System, we can transform the landscape of spinal surgery and ensure a brighter, healthier future for those affected by scoliosis. Join us in making a difference.
