July 29, 2024 Dear Members of the North Shore School District 112 Community, We are calling an emergency meeting of the Board of Education tonight at the District Offices, 445 Sheridan Road, Highwood, IL 60040. At Elm Place, some bricks on the wall above the lunchroom unexpectedly fell. After assessment by a construction company, it was determined that water had infiltrated behind the wall, causing the damage. To ensure safety, we need to start the repair work immediately (this week). The estimated cost for this project is approximately $65,000. According to Illinois law, a competitive bidding process is required unless emergency conditions exist. In this case, the emergency conditions necessitate immediate action to ensure the safety of our school environment. Therefore, I am requesting the Board of Education to convene an emergency meeting tonight to authorize the Emergency Expenditure of Funds for Safety Improvements at Elm Place School. Please feel free to email or call with any questions. The meeting will be open to the public, and details have been posted on our website. I am sharing this information with full transparency. Sincerely, Mike Michael Lubelfeld, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools

Help Our 8th Graders Experience a Life-Changing Global Service Trip! North Shore School District 112 is offering an incredible opportunity for our 8th graders to participate in a service-learning trip to the Dominican Republic in March 2025. It's a chance to broaden horizons and make a real difference! We need your help to ensure ALL students can participate, regardless of financial circumstances.
