About us
North American Lighting, Inc., member of the Koito Group of Companies, is the largest Tier-1 automotive exterior lighting supplier in North America. As the market share leader for both headlamps and signal lamps, NAL provides lamp assemblies to virtually all automotive manufacturers, some of the largest customers being Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Subaru and General Motors, just to name a few. NAL was founded in 1983 by our parent company, Koito Manufacturing Co., a joint venture with two other automotive lighting suppliers. By 2001, Koito had purchased 100% ownership of NAL, which now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Koito group. NAL’s nine facilities in North America combined with the global network of Koito Group Companies, uniquely positions the company to offer world-class advanced lighting technologies to its North American customers. We operate according to kaizen management principles, which means we manage, measure and improve everything we do. NAL engineers work with the vehicle manufacturers from concept to product launch in tailoring lighting products to new model specifications. We offer world class benefits including health, life, dental, vision, and short/long-term disability. Help us transform the future in automotive lighting systems joining our team today at nal.com!

💙💚🏆 NAL was recently awarded with the 2024 Illinois Manufacturers' Association Workforce Excellence Award! Out of nearly 150 nominations, we are excited to be among the inaugural class of Manufacturing Excellence Award Winners. Other award categories include Champion of Operational Excellence, Community Impact Award, Innovator of the Year, Economic Development Partner of the Year, Educator of the Year, Sustainable Champion of the Year and Safety Champion. The Workforce Excellence category recognizes a manufacturing company that is committed to building talent pipeline for the manufacturing sector by engaging in local, state, or federal efforts. NAL was judged on evidence of innovative workforce programs, commitment to high-quality education and training, and our positive impact on addressing the skills gap and growing interest in manufacturing. Thank you to the IMA and IMEC for a wonderful banquet celebrating manufacturing and makers across Illinois. Finally, congratulations to all the other finalists and winners!

Several NAL Team Members participated in the Ben Myers Memorial Golf Outing in honor of our coworker and friend. Ben joined NAL as a Logistics Planner in November of 2021 where his mother Denise Titzer works as a Purchasing Coordinator. Ben lost his life in a tragic car accident earlier this year and is greatly missed by all of us at NAL who had the pleasure of knowing him. Final numbers are still being tabulated, but through the golf tournament, Ben’s family raised about $4,000 to be put towards a memorial scholarship in Ben’s name at Saint Mary of the Woods College where he graduated and played on the golf team. Congratulations to our very own Jackson Parcel who came away with a pretty nice prize of a foursome and a twosome of golf at Idle Creek Golf course in Terre Haute. He also had the longest putt on hole 5, approximately 30-35 feet long! Both teams of NAL golfers finished the round with a 65, seven under par, placing them in a tie for 13th place.
