Circular RNA (circRNA) has a diverse range of biological functions, but there are difficulties when it comes to sequencing. New England Biolabs scientists developed a new method for sequencing that doesn't require conventional circRNA enrichment. Induro-RT mediated circRNA-sequencing (IMCR-seq) detected 1000-fold more isoforms than short-read RNA-sequencing and is capable of detecting circRNA larger than 7,000 nucleotides from samples as small as 10 ng total RNA. Read more about this method and how our scientists used it to detect cancer-specific circRNAs as potential biomarkers in Nucleic Acids Research: https://lnkd.in/eVuvnhPb
