It's amazing how much can happen in such a short amount of time! Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years! Photo on left: Me in January 2021, 7 months pregnant, in the middle of the pandemic, the day we signed our lease for Minibop's studio. Photo on right: Me in May 2024, holding baby #2. In those 3.5 years, Minibop has: - Obtained WASC-accreditation - Welcomed hundreds of children and parents in our studio - Taught thousands more in schools across LA County - Partnered with The GRAMMY Museum and Academy Museum - Performed for families at The Grove, The Americana and Palisades Village - Hosted The Boo Bop! Halloween Music Fest for 3 consecutive years - Launched CLIMB Hub, our all-on-one digital platform to empower teachers - ... and more 😀 Oh yeah - and went from no children to having a toddler and baby. 😅 If you ever feeling like you're moving too slow or not making enough progress, just zoom out. Find something you enjoy doing play the long game! Building something great takes time. #entreprenuer #entrepreneurship #motivation #education #founder #smallbusiness #renovation

Teaching children is one of the most selfless acts a person can do. It requires so much patience, presence, mindfulness, etc... valuable skills that not everybody has. Thank you to all the teachers out there! 🙌 And thank you especially to the teachers at Minibop. You are all so amazing at what you do. It's really a privilege to work with you. I'm so proud of the difference you make everyday and I'm excited to continue making a positive impact. Know that you are *always* appreciated, each and every day! #thankateacher #teacherappreciation #teacherappreciationday

AI is already changing the EdTech landscape - but buyer beware. There are a lot of gimmicks out there... I believe the best AI education products will be built by teams who are led by educators, as opposed to led by engineers. Just because AI can do something related to education doesn't mean it should. That’s why at Minibop, we’re incorporating AI-powered tools into a full suite of other resources. AI has a lot to offer, but it's no replacement for thoughtfully designed curriculum and expert human support. We offer each of these and more through CLIMB Hub: Minibop’s all-in-one resource for early childhood educators to encourage learning through music. Learn more at minibopmusic.com!

Just got off a webinar with Create CA that really hit home the importance of arts education in early childhood development. It's not just about creativity, but building crucial cognitive and social-emotional skills. Sadly, 9 in 10 CA schools aren't providing the arts education required by state policy. We're letting our kids down. Arts education shouldn't be an afterthought, especially during those critical early years. It's time CA (and really everywhere) steps up to ensure every child has access to the arts programming they deserve. Let's work together to change this! #artseducation #musicenrichment #earlyeducation

Prop 28 gives about $1 billion each year for California schools to implement arts and music programs. Unfortunately... Turns out pretty much everyone is confused. 😕 When Prop 28 passed in 2022, I knew Minibop would be the perfect partner to deliver these much-needed music programs to schools. However, since then I've talked to numerous teachers and admin who want to use our program but have no idea how Prop 28 funding "pays" for it. We've done our best to decipher the language published by the California Department of Education, but it appears schools are still in the dark on how much they qualify for, and when/how they access the funds. This EdSource article by Mallika Seshadri points to the fact that different districts have opted to use the funds inconsistently, leading to a disconnect between districts and schools and the CDE. So, despite there being $1 billion in Prop 28 funding available for arts and music programs, many qualified organizations (Minibop included) have not been able to provide services. Nevertheless - we’ll keep working with schools to help them use it so they don't lose it! If you work with a K-5 school in CA feel free to reach out to me about how much Prop 28 funds you should be receiving in your Principal Apportionments. https://lnkd.in/ecDDt4mu #prop28 #proposition28 #schoolfunding
