In case you missed it, not seasonally adjusted jobless rates rose in all 17 Michigan labor market areas over the month, according to data released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget. “Michigan regions experienced typical jobless rate gains during June,” said Wayne Rourke, labor market information director for the Michigan Center for Data and Analytics. “The majority of regions saw labor force levels increase over the month and the year.” Read more at https://lnkd.in/g2AAHzcn.

July is National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month, and the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is encouraging vehicle owners to take steps to protect their vehicles from theft. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than one million vehicles were stolen in the United States last year—a 25% increase in vehicle theft totals over previous years. Today, Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist announced that four projects will receive $6.25 million in total funding to scale critical Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM) infrastructure and deploy pilots that will generate operational data to validate the commercial potential of key AAM use cases and help inform the state’s AAM policy. The funding will be provided through the AAM Activation Fund, a collaborative effort between the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) which aims to increase coordination across State entities and create a centralized pipeline of projects that can accelerate AAM readiness and growth in the state.
