Metal Shark Boats

Every week, Metal Shark delivers purpose-built patrol craft to first responders from coast to coast. Here’s a 28 Relentless center console recently built for Holmes Beach Police Department on Anna Maria Island in West Central Florida. Other Metal Shark first responders within the same area of operation include West Manatee Fire Rescue, St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue, Tampa Fire Department, Florida Fish & Wildlife, and the US Coast Guard.

The US Navy’s San Diego-based Maritime Expeditionary Squadron 3 is conducting high speed maneuvers on Metal Shark 40 PB patrol boats in preparation for its upcoming deployment. The squadron is developing boat team proficiency for coastal, inshore, harbor/port environments, Antiterrorism/Force Protection, and long-range dynamic High Value Asset escorts. Metal Shark is one of two builders awarded a seven-year US Navy contract worth up to $290 million to produce up to seventy-three 40-foot “40 PB” patrol boats for Naval Expeditionary Combat Command. Designed by Metal Shark’s in-house engineering team specifically for the Navy, the 40 PB has been built by Metal Shark since award of the 40 PB Flight 1 contract in 2017.  With the Flight 2 award, 40 PB production will continue in force at Metal Shark’s South Louisiana production facilities. https://bit.ly/4aLkHa9

Out for delivery! Here’s our latest 85-foot Near Coastal Patrol Vessel (NCPV) docked in Panama while our delivery team makes preparations before transiting the Panama Canal on their voyage to Guatemala. This is the sixth Metal Shark NCPV to be completed out of a 13-boat, $54 million US Navy contract aimed at increasing the US allied naval presence across Latin America and the Caribbean. Primary NCPV missions include border patrol, counter narcotics, counterterrorism, and protecting waters of economic importance. Previous Metal Shark NCPV deliveries include Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador. This morning Metal Shark announced a contract to build (22) high-performance 36 Fearless interceptors, similar to the vessel shown here, for the Jamaican Defence Force (JDF). The vessels are being acquired via direct purchase and will significantly enhance the capabilities of the JDF-Coast Guard. Full story: https://bit.ly/3UqZnko

Last month, US Marine Corps Long Range Unmanned Surface Vessels (LRUSVs) and LRUSV support vessels participated in the US Navy Pacific Fleet experiment “Integrated Battle Problem 24.1,” which utilizes the multi-domain employment of unmanned systems to create fleet warfighting advantages.
