Erkan holds both undergraduate and master's degrees from Bilkent University, where he specialized in machine control algorithms for micro-stereolithography additive manufacturing systems. His career journey led him to Roketsan, a leading defence and aerospace company in Turkey, where he rose to the position of Lead Engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies department. There, he played a pivotal role in developing laser powder bed fusion and wire arc additive manufacturing processes, notably contributing to a national space launch vehicle project. 🌟 We are thrilled to announce Dr. Guney Mert Bilgin as a guest speaker at our upcoming User Group Meeting in the UK! 🌟 Dr. Guney Mert Bilgin is a Technical Lead in Additive Manufacturing at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), University of Sheffield. With a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Yildiz Technical University and extensive experience in additive manufacturing since 2014, Dr. Bilgin brings unparalleled expertise to our event. Dr. Bilgin earned his Ph.D. from the Middle East Technical University (METU) with a thesis on optimizing secondary treatments and the mechanical behavior of Ti48Al2Cr2Nb alloy produced by Electron Beam Melting (EBM). His career includes a notable tenure at Tusas Engine Industries (TEI) Inc., where he led R&D projects in metal additive manufacturing and honed his skills in laser and electron beam powder bed fusion technologies. Since joining AMRC in March 2024, Dr. Bilgin has focused on large-scale additive manufacturing projects and material characterization.
