After a recent motorcycle accident, a McLane Milwaukee teammate was worried about the ability to access his home by wheelchair once he was released from the hospital. His teammate, Matt Schmidt, went to his home on his own time and built a ramp for him to access his home easier. Because of Matts selfless efforts, this week he was presented the McLane Company, 212 Award for going above and beyond to make life easier for his teammate. What an amazing way to support your teammates on and off the job. Congratulations on the well-deserved 212 Award, Matt!

Teammates Helping Teammates: In the days following Hurricane Beryl, which hit Houston earlier this month, the McLane North Texas team headed to Houston to support the McLane Southwest team with hurricane relief. McLane teammates from North Texas assisted the Southwest perishable team with hands-on work to fulfill very large orders in Houston. The McLane Southwest division is very thankful for their assistance during this time. What an awesome way to come together and support other McLane teammates in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Recently a McLane Milwaukee teammate was in a motorcycle accident. One of his worries was how difficult it would be to access his home once he was released from the hospital. In order to make the teammate's home accesable by wheel chair Matt Schmidt, also a McLane Milwaukee teammate went to his co-workers home on his own time and built a ramp. It was 90 degrees and very humid the day that Matt built the ramp, but he didn't care! This week Matt was presented with a 212 award for going above and beyond to make life easier for his co-worker. Yesterday marked the end of an era as we bid farewell to Kevin Joiner, who has dedicated 34 years to leadership, mentorship, and paving the way for the future of McLane.
