Powerhouse litigator Lauren Ormsbee recently made the move to Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP’s New York office as a partner and key part of the litigation leadership team, continuing her focus on high-stakes plaintiffs’ securities litigation. We sat down with Ormsbee for a wide-ranging discussion about her career, often focusing on her goals as a leader and mentor. In particular, she shared how she has balanced being a leading lawyer with a fulfilling life outside of the office. “People are able to find that balance where you can have a very successful family life and a very successful career,” Ormsbee says. “It's not easy, but it's achievable. Dr. Bruce Jessen, a designer of the CIA's interrogation techniques used on terrorism suspects, testified in proceedings on #GuantanmoBay that waterboarding the accused architect of the 9/11 attacks took "a great toll" on himself and the detainee, Khalid Shaikh Mohammad. He further testified that "a great friendship" developed between the two, with Mohammad even writing a poem for the psychologist.
