Support event logistics, check-ins, swag distribution, and educator engagement. 10th Anniversary GirlsBuild Summit HelloFuture, October 2024: Celebrate with motivational speakers, panels on college and leadership, women in sports, and women in tech. Plus, a career and college expo featuring interactive STEM activities and learning sessions for thousands of students. Volunteer to empower the next generation of young leaders through career development activities and event logistics. Join us and make a huge impact across LA. 🌟 Celebrating Success! 🌟 Black College Success's BS3 STEAM Academy at USC was an incredible experience! This summer, our program prepared Black students entering STEM majors by providing math instruction in algebraic fluency and introducing students to college-level physics and chemistry. 🚀🔬 Through hands-on learning and support from our all-star mentors, students gained a strong academic foundation and a preview of what college life will look like in the fall. We're proud to support and celebrate Black excellence in STEM as we break barriers and pave the way for future black leaders. As we near the end of the school year, we are delighted to witness many students at The Westbrook Academy receive college acceptances and plan their life after high school. However, as post-high school planning approaches, it often brings concerns about post secondary finances and affordability. Every year, LA Promise Fund's Young Professional Council (YPC), a group of individuals committed to empowering youth, (Courtney A. Paul Mike Butler Desiree Flores Samantha Scott Lynn Kha Bryant Lee Diana B. Simmons) dedicate their energy and efforts to break down obstacles for youth, champion students' interests, and open doors to new opportunities. Today, we're honored to spotlight Renata Simril, President & CEO of the LA84 Foundation as part of Women's History Month!   A tremendous thank you to @la84foundation for their support in the LA Promise Fund mission of supporting students in college, career and life.   When asked what education means to her, Renata beautifully shares, "Education means opportunity and it is still the great equalizer. College helped a country girl from Carson find an extraordinary career of leadership, service and impact. In whatever we choose to focus on, it enriches our thinking, how we understand ourselves, our experiences and our relationships. I believe education can animate every part of life, including joy, respect, compassion and service to others. Along with academics, sport played a significant role in my education.
