It’s Summer time and that means it’s officially thunderstorm season! Thunderstorms can be dangerous, but with the right precautions, you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Here are some essential tips: 🏠Seek Shelter: Stay indoors and avoid open areas. If you're outside, find a safe building or vehicle. 🌊Avoid Water: Stay away from lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water. Lightning can strike water, conducting electricity. 🔌Unplug Devices: Protect your electronics by unplugging them before the storm hits to avoid power surges. 🪟Stay Away from Windows: Close windows and doors, and avoid using corded phones or any electrical appliances. 🧰Emergency Kit: Have an emergency kit ready with essentials like water, non-perishable food, flashlights, and batteries. 📨Stay Informed: Monitor weather updates and warnings on your local news or weather apps. Feel free to share these tips with friends and family to ensure you and your loved ones stay safe during summer storms! #SummerSafety #stormseason #StormSafety #EMS #LancasterPA #safetytips #safetyfirst

About us
Lancaster EMS, a private, nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization provides primary 9-1-1 emergency medical services to 21 municipalities in Lancaster County, PA. Our EMS service is indispensable to the safety of our communities. Lancaster EMS was formed in 1996 by several Lancaster hospitals divesting themselves of ambulance services to reduce costs. Lancaster EMS is not owned or operated by any hospital. We are governed by a 13-member board of trustees consisting of healthcare and community leaders. In addition to emergency medical care, Lancaster EMS also provides non-emergency medical transport services, EMT and Paramedic Education, public healthcare education programs, community paramedics, medical standby coverage at special events, and tactical paramedics to the Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team. We are a member of the PA Strike Team responding to natural and manmade emergencies when requested. On every one of our calls, Lancaster EMS Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Paramedics (EMT-P) are prepared to deliver high quality, life-sustaining treatment to our community of over 260,000 within our 9-1-1 response area. We answer more than 100 requests for service each day; 38,969 requests for service in 2020. Our EMS service is indispensable to the safety of our communities.

We’re kicking off the week with our hearts full! This past weekend, Lancaster EMS EMT Taylor T. and Capt. Dawn R. had the honor of attending an open house hosted by George Kaloustian and his wife. The event was a heartfelt gathering to thank all those who have supported them following George’s cardiac arrest in March of this year. We are incredibly proud of Taylor and Dawn for their dedication and service, and we are deeply moved by the Kaloustian family's generosity in recognizing the efforts of everyone involved in George’s recovery. Moments like these highlight the strength and resilience of our community♥️🏘️ #community #EMS #LancasterPA #LancasterEMS #feelgood #Heartwarming #EMT #Paramedic
