Join the DigiSocCirc consortium led by RREUSE for the final conference of this EU-funded project, which aims to support, optimise, and accelerate social circular enterprises' active role in the digital era. The 'Digital Era of Social Enterprises: Trends and Opportunities within the Circular Economy' conference will provide hands-on insights into how digital tools can enhance social enterprises' circular economy and social inclusion activities. 💻 💡Our social enterprise project partners will share their best practices and initiatives for digitalising their activities. 🚀 Off we go: CONSOLIDATE has just kicked off! The start of a new project is always an exciting time. CONSOLIDATE partners gathered for the first time in Brussels, and with the engaging conversations and enthusiasm in the room, the next three years look incredibly promising! Led by Eurocities and funded by the European Asylum and Migration Fund, CONSOLIDATE will establish communities of practice to identify the most efficient tools and transferrable best practices in: - Effective labour market integration for refugees and other newcomers - Local support instruments for refugees towards housing autonomy - One-Stop Shops as an accessible and efficient model for coordinated service provision Twelve local authorities will receive financial and technical support to design and implement innovative policy pilots in these areas. Our expert partners from MigrationWork CIC will provide crucial guidance in taht respect, while the European Network of Migrant Women (ENOMW) will ensure that the voice of migrants, and migrant women in particular, is listened to. On May 4th, citizens were invited to explore the Berlaymont building during the Open Day 2024 event! ✨ We're thrilled to have been part of this incredible journey that saw us stepping inside the heart of the European Commission for the most noble of purposes: opening up to the public 🏛️.  Over 10,000 visitors explored the thematic villages, learning about the Commission's work in defending democracy, taking strength from diversity, and shaping a more digital and greener future for all. 🌍 With Europe Day just around the corner, key milestones such as the 20th anniversary of the 2004 EU enlargement, 25 years of the euro🪙, and 30 years of the Single Market were commemorated. Last, but not least, the upcoming European Elections were a big part of this Open Day: visitors were informed of the importance of this democratic exercise and received tips on making the most of their vote 🗳️.   And there was so much more to the experience besides receiving information! Throughout the day, guests immersed themselves in a world of fun and discovery. From engaging games and activities suitable for all ages to tantalizing food bites tastings and captivating artist performances, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🎨🍴   For us, witnessing the interaction between the public institution and the citizens it serves was such an inspiring experience! As part of Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024, I had the privilege of being invited as speaker to the opening keynote at the pre-summit of the European Consumer Day organized by BAM - Belgian Association of Marketing, European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) , International Chamber of Commerce in Belgium | ICC Belgium, and FEDMA. In the presence of various stakeholders, decision-makers, and policy makers from Belgium and Europe on issues of online data management, online consumer protection, and new digital challenges such as influencers, we explored the digital habits of Belgian and European consumers. The evolution of digital behaviors implies new needs for regulation and protection, whether from a legal or technological perspective. But to make the right choices, it is necessary to have a detailed understanding of these new digital habits. I hope I was able to share some key elements representative of our current and future digital societies. Thank you for the invitation and the interesting discussions with the participants.
