Transforming Communities Through Integrated Design & Construction Excellence
About us
Established in St. Louis in 1980, KAI Enterprises has grown into one of the leading and most respected design and build firms. We provide delivery-oriented building solutions nationwide with a diverse portfolio of experience, 150+ in-house multi-discipline professionals, and expertise in both design and construction delivery. More importantly, we are designers and builders out to make a difference in our communities. Through our integrated design and build strategy, we offer both award-winning design services (architecture, interior design and engineering) and build services (general contracting and program, project and construction management) all under one roof. Our goal is to incorporate these two strengths to deliver the best value, solution and people to achieve your vision, budget and schedule. Currently serving as the Executive Architect for the National Juneteenth Museum, KAI seeks out culturally conscious, and politically sensitive projects that will make lasting differences in the lives they touch. KAI was built upon a foundation of teamwork and collaboration and has since grown into one of the largest minority-owned firms in the AEC industry. For more than 40 years, we have been instrumental in transforming communities through its expertise in residential, commercial, K-12, higher education, healthcare, science and technology, aviation, mobility, sports and entertainment, government, water and community-focused projects. https://linktr.ee/kaienterprises

Our very own Amanda Jo Sullivan, AIA, NCARB had the fantastic opportunity to present to fellow PechaKucha St. Louis community members the story of her career in design! Through her “Ingredients of an Architect” presentation, she detailed all the various interests in her childhood that, when combined, were the ingredients of an architect in the making. She loves to encourage younger people who may not know what they want to be or conversely dream of a specific career that sometimes the essence of who you are will lead you to something else, ideally a career that feels second nature to you. #TransformingCommunities #CareerInDesign

It was a pleasure collaborating with DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit), University of Texas at Arlington College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs and HDR on the development of this prototype. Special thanks to Jeremy Sims for his thought leadership in taking the UTSA students concepts and working with the manufacturers to finalize the design. #TransformingCommunities KAI Enterprises

It was a fantastic day in Midtown STL! Our team was on hand to celebrate a special sneak preview ribbon cutting of the new Target Midtown project! As part of a larger $100 million mixed-use development called The Edwin, we were ecstatic to be involved in such a beneficial project to the surrounding community. The 70k square foot store’s interior was designed and built by KAI. Located on the ground level of the development and designed to fit the area’s urban character and its population of college students, its features include a Starbucks, CVS Pharmacy, Order Pickup and Drive-Up services, among other major departments. We are proud to be part of the newest development in a revitalized Midtown neighborhood on an upward trajectory! #TransformingCommunities #MidtownSTL #TargetMidtown #AEC #Design #Construction
