Last week, The International Center (Indianapolis) had the honor of hosting eight incredible women from Algeria, Djibouti, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe for the International Visitor Leadership Program focused on Women and Entrepreneurship.
On Monday, the delegation had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Tammy L and Dietchyne Aimè, MBA at Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis. They discussed online business and entrepreneurship programs, sharing their entrepreneurial experiences as women in business.
Later, the group met with David Herron, Christina Snorten, and The International Center’s Board Member Marlon Webb at the Indy Chamber. They explored how Indianapolis supports local and international entrepreneurs through the Central Indiana Women Business Council, the Global Indy Business Center, and Business Equity for Indy.
The next day, the delegation connected with fellow female entrepreneur Aimee Kandrac, co-founder and CEO of WhatFriendsDo, who shared her inspiring journey of creating her business.
The group also toured Maven Space and heard from Leslie Bailey and Karen Kennedy about the importance of providing a space for women to connect, learn, and inspire one another.
A roundtable discussion followed with Sunny Lu Williams (CEO of TechServ Engineering), Farida Falke (Program Manager at TechServ Engineering), Nicole Kearney (Founder and CEO of Sip and Share Wines®️ 🍷), Antoniette Holt (Director at the Indiana Department of Health, Office of Minority Health), and Emil Ekiyor (Founder and CEO of Adaptive and InnoPower LLC (InnoPower Indy)). The delegation gained insights into enhancing community health and education through strategic technological partnerships, female leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Thank you to all our partners and speakers for making this program impactful and memorable. Together, we continue to empower women and foster global entrepreneurship.
