  • In honor of #NationalInternDay, we would like to spotlight the great work recently accomplished by the Information Technology interns. The IT department interns supported Production Control during inventory of the pipe shop storeroom. This process involves tedious work inputting data and transactions in the Industrial & Financial Systems. With the interns' support, inventory was completed in an efficient and timely manner, allowing PC to focus on other critical tasks in the shipyard. Thank you to all our interns at Ingalls for making a difference!

  • For 85 years, the world-class shipbuilders at Ingalls have designed, built and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers and cutters for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. In the newest episode of Inside Ingalls, Jack Norris, director, Government Affairs, reflected on how shipbuilders’ craftmanship is on display across the globe. "Ingalls Ships in Action stories really connect and reinforce the ‘Their Mission. Our Purpose.’ campaign,” said Jack. “Those stories are a great way to remind all of us how critically important the work we do is to stability around the world.” Read more ships in action stories here: https://lnkd.in/gy5zyffB

Today, Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII, had the honor of hosting Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition Hon. Nickolas Guertin. While at Ingalls, Secretary Guertin received a first-hand look at the ships currently under construction and had the opportunity to tour guided missile destroyer Ted Stevens (DDG 128) and amphibious assault ship Bougainville (LHA 8). We are proud to support our Navy in providing these platforms in support of global peace and prosperity! • We are excited to welcome nearly 50 bright minds from colleges and universities across the region to our team this summer. These college interns are working at various departments throughout the shipyard and are contributing to the important work we do with their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives. Earlier this month, we hosted an event so our interns could network with each other and leadership. It was inspiring to see the energy and ideas flowing as they connected, exchanged experiences and gained insights into our industry. These students represent the future of our industry, and we are committed to supporting their growth and development throughout their time with us.

  • HII’s #IngallsShipbuilding division recently hosted 23 Mississippi educators for a two-week Educator Externship program at the company’s shipyard in Pascagoula. The program provided educators with the opportunity to work alongside shipbuilders throughout the yard and gain insight into how each of them can assist Ingalls in developing the next generation of shipbuilders. Through investments in education and workforce development initiatives such as the Educator Externship program, Ingalls reaffirms its continued commitment to building both ships and careers across the Gulf Coast. We congratulate this year’s educator externship participants for completing the program and extend sincere gratitude to all our nation’s educators for their crucial role in shaping the minds and futures of our youth.
