We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of our Gifts from the Heart Campaign, which played a pivotal role in funding the new cardiac ultrasound technology at North Baldwin Infirmary. This campaign, which began with the memorable 2023 Gala and concluded with the 2024 Clay Shoot, has been a remarkable journey thanks to the dedication and support of many. We are particularly grateful to Foundation Board Chair Mike Andreoli and Foundation Board Vice Chair Lee Mitchell for their unwavering leadership and commitment. Their vision and tireless efforts have been instrumental in making this campaign a success. Infirmary Health would also like to express our sincere thanks to our sponsors and event participants, whose generosity and enthusiasm made each event a triumph. The 2023 Gala, the 2023 Golf Tournament, the 2024 "Back to the 80s", and the 2024 Clay Shoot were all resounding successes, thanks to your support. Your contributions not only ensured the success of these events but also played a crucial role in enhancing our cardiac care capabilities. We are deeply appreciative of your support and look forward to the positive impact this new technology will have on our community’s health and well-being.

Sports specialization, or training in only one sport year-round, is becoming more common among young athletes. The popularity of travel leagues fuels this trend. More research shows that women athletes tend to experience more overuse injuries and severe injuries requiring surgery than their male counterparts. A recent study found a greater risk of concussions, stress fractures, and injuries among specialized athletes. Dr. Joanne Baird, a Board-Certified and Fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon with Gulf Orthopaedics, discusses preventing and treating injuries in young female athletes on an episode of LIFE Cast. 📲 Listen to the full episode --> https://brnw.ch/21wEey6 OR subscribe to LIFE Cast in your favorite podcast feed.
