Inc. Magazine reposted this
Just a little over a year ago, Inc. Magazine launched the first-ever digital home for the #Inc5000 community (on Mighty Networks!). Following Mighty's #CommunityDesign course helped us anchor our work with monthly themes that define weekly actions. I just got off our monthly Kick-Off call, which is an Office Hours meets Mastermind session, and this month's theme happened to be "Igniting Creative and Agile Thinking." An hour always seems to fly by when facilitating a "room" full of #Inc5000 founders and CEOs (and Chief Adventure Officer Robin Pollak!!), and I'm always blown away by their generosity in sharing their stories and expertise. Here's just a few things I learned from today's conversation with the founders and CEOs of America's fastest-growing companies: On "Where do you find creative inspiration in your daily life?": Noelle Cordeaux shared, "Creativity comes from joining groups of individuals who are doing impactful things in the world. Role modeling and speaking up about our work helps inspire creative thinking in others." Pooneh Mohajer emphasized, "I'm inspired by other entrepreneurs. Hearing their stories and how they approach their business challenges motivates me to apply similar creative strategies in my own company." When asked "In what ways do you encourage agile thinking within your team or organization? What practices or frameworks have you found effective?": Jonathan Tofel shared how his team constantly challenges their processes through regular hackathons, pushing for faster, better, and smarter ways of working. This practice encourages a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Natasha Miller highlighted the significance of developing proprietary systems within her company that streamline operations and foster scalability. This approach allows her team to manage large-scale projects efficiently while staying agile. This community is an endless wealth of knowledge, and I'm excited to soon see this session recapped on Inc.com, where aspiring entrepreneurs and other #smb owners can learn from this incredible group. Heading out for a power lunch with clients in the days before Covid was essential for most entrepreneurs and clients to get deals done. But in a post-Covid world, many time-strapped entrepreneurs say they now take a very different approach to the midday meal. If they schedule power lunches at all, they make them far more strategic.
The Power Lunch Is Back, and It's Shorter (and More Sober) Than Ever
