Last, but certainly not least, in our #BoardMemberMonday series, we have the wonderful Natasha Skult. Natasha is the CEO & Creative Director of MiTale Ltd, a game development company from Finland focusing on narrative-driven experiences in mixed reality and gamification. She is an active member of the Finnish games industry as Chairperson of IGDA Finland and one of the founders of The Hive – Turku Game Hub (game business center in South-West Finland). Some of the most recent programs she has been leading are IGDA Game Art SIG, IGDA Future and W Love Games Conference. Besides industry work, she is active in academic research and teaches courses in game design and game (digital) art production at the University of Turku.

I’m honored to announced our Gamacon ambassadors Jakin Vela, PhD, Isabel Vásquez & Narciso Alejo Gutierrez. Their love and drive for the video game dev industry make them key parts to keep promoting the Mexican industry, and help explode the potential of talented Mexican developers, and keep generating opportunities. Dr. Jakin Vela is a sociologist and game developer interested in how minority stress, stigma, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness exist and intersect across various techno cultures. Jakin serves as the Executive Director of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), also serves as CEO of Astral Interactive, a small indie studio focused on elevating player empathy in gameplay. Isabel Vazquez is a video game director and producer. In 2020 she founded Pink Bear Games studio in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where she is developing “Patito”, a video game to create safe and happy childhoods. Organizer of Game Jam Plus Mexico and LATAM coordinator. Winner of Unity for Humanity 2023. Speaker at GDC 2024 on “#1ReasonToBe”. Speaker at COL 4.0 in Colombia with the talk “Women in Video Games”. Narciso Alejo is passionate about the video game industry and currently works as LATAM director in Indienauts. His mission is to connect talents, projects and creative minds with the vast world of video games. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working with multidisciplinary teams, from independent developers to large studios, driving innovation and creativity in each project. GAMACON, is a non-profit organization, founded on March 14th 2008, with the objective of boosting the videogame and creative media development industry in Mexico.
