🧍 #EMPLOYEESPOTLIGHT | Meet Erica Sims, Customer Service Representative III. Erica handles the urgent task of rescheduling applicants for various circumstances. She excels in this role by identifying issues, suggesting improvements, and proactively learning each program's intricacies to enhance efficiency and prevent future problems. Read below to learn more about Erica! What does your day-to-day look like? There is no typical day for us in customer service, every day is different, and we must prioritize which situations are the most immediate, as we handle multiple things. From applicant escalations/complaints to making outreach to applicants regarding their enrollments, we assist and answer applicants’ questions through multiple platforms. We also assist them through the enrollment process. What accomplishments are you most proud of in your career at IDEMIA so far? I think the accomplishment I am most proud of is being in the role I am now. The journey to get here has been amazing. I started out as a temp back in 2019 at the call center, I learned all state programs (every state is different so knowing everything you can for 12 different states is a lot of information to remember lol.) I worked hard to be the best I can be and was promoted to team lead. But I always liked doing backend work knowing why things are the way they are. What can change to make things work more effectively for not just our department but for other departments and being able to help customers. When I was promoted to this role, I knew I was where I wanted to be. What strengths do you bring to your team that you believe are unique? I am a head full of ideas I think outside of the box. Being able to freely voice any idea that I have within my team is great. I find solutions to problems that might not be the typical solution, but it works and gets the issue resolved. I am good at deescalating situations and providing learning to other departments. Are there any hobbies/interests you're particularly passionate about? Within work, I’m more of a “view the bigger picture” so I am interested to learn other departments and how they work (Finance, how contracts are created between IDEMIA and states, how we get locations established in each state we are in) and how each department ties into the entire process. Outside of work, I like to think of myself as crafty lol. I like to make little home décor stuff. Made a couple of wood projects, wooden lawn chairs, and wishing wells, etc. Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun or relaxation? I love spending time with my family, taking my kids to the park or going on what I call “mini adventures” just being outdoors. Love camping (well glamping, since I don’t camp in a tent haha) it’s so peaceful and quiet. It’s nice to get away from all the noise in the city. Looking for a new role? Join the IDEMIA team! I am passionate about improving processes and finding ways to make them more efficient. This is something I am committed to in my daily life outside of work. What are your professional goals for the next few years? Over the next five years, I am committed to honing my skills and propelling my career forward within IDEMIA. I firmly believe that my unique talents and capabilities will empower me to assume a more influential leadership position. Do you have a hidden talent or unique skill? Of course, I'm a writer and I have a pretty wild imagination. I like to think of myself as a storytelling guru, so you can always expect some creative, out-of-the-box ideas from me! LOL Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV show? "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is my all-time favorite TV show. The quote from Buffy Summers, "Stop telling stories.
