We’ve got some big news! We’re super excited to announce that Hobbes has been acquired by Duolingo! 🤯 Okay…plot twist but stick with us. Since 2018, we’ve seen our three-person crew grow into a robust studio featuring a network of dedicated animators, producers, strategists, tinkerers, and problem-solvers. We established ourselves as a thought partner for our clients, doubled down on investment in the Detroit artist community, and built a thriving business–all things we’re incredibly proud of. This evolution marks the next big step in our journey and we couldn’t be any more thrilled for the future! Hobbes was founded with the mission to put animators in the driver’s seat and design products that are motion-first, user-focused, and delightful to use. This acquisition both accomplishes Hobbes’ mission and allows us to focus our efforts on Duolingo’s super admirable mission to bring universal access to education!
