Helping first responders work more safely and effectively so they can save lives.

About us

Our company was founded by serial entrepreneur, firefighter, and EMT Sam Massa in 2011. With a background in stage lighting from his former DJ business and an interest in off-road/towing lights from his biofuel business days, emergency vehicle lighting was a natural transition for Sam as he joined Summerville-Bunnlevel Fire & Rescue. This experience really hammered home to Sam the importance of being able to see to do the job – because when you’re working on the side of the road at 2am, you can’t do the job unless you can see the subject of the incident. Sam quickly got to work on bringing new, innovative LED scene lights for fire trucks and ambulances to market and HiViz Lighting, Inc was born. Fast forwarding a decade and some change, our FireTech brand of lights boasts an entire portfolio of the most innovative, reliable, and durable scene and warning lights for fire apparatus and ambulances. We also innovated the traditional business model of the industry by backing up our products with top-notch customer service (call us anytime, literally) and the industry’s only advance exchange lifetime warranty. In true Sam Massa fashion, we’re also known for questioning the norm; for stepping back to look at things from the first responder point of view to understand how products need to function in the real world. We’d rather burn it all down and rebuild from the group up than do something just for the sake of “that’s how it’s been done for years.” This line of thought has pushed our company to new levels, with the introduction of communication protocol HiViz Connect and its line of smart products for emergency vehicles. As we evaluate the future-looking landscape of the public safety industry, we know software is key. HiViz has reinvented itself with a dual purpose; robust hardware married to the most versatile software on the planet. By focusing on hardware now and software over and over, HiViz is leading the charge as a tech company focused on saving lives.

  • Coming to you LIVE from…under a truck? 🤨 Lee and Joe love this light so much they wanted to take a break underneath a Vengeant Sandstorm to tell you all about it! The Vengeant Sandstorm is a mini pumper wildland combination truck, meaning it likely gets regularly beat up by trees, rocks, mud, or branches. Due to these extreme conditions, the truck requires an undercarriage light that can withstand anything thrown its way. The FT-AQX Undercarriage Light is that light. Rated to handle submersion up to 100ft in water, extremely robust and durable, these lights can take everything from road grime and dirt, splashing, flood waters, you name it. Along with its durability, our undercarriage lights feature dual red and white LEDs that you can easily switch between. Their super wide lens gets you the most light possible when you’re getting in and out of the truck or working around it. If you manage to damage them, you can always fall back on our FireTech advance exchange lifetime warranty. So go be rough with them, that’s what they’re built to do! 💪

  • Ultra low-profile design, configurable optics, AND an adjustable mounting rail, what more could you want? 😮 Featuring spot and flood optics, our Trunnion mount MiniBrows are a fantastic fixture when you need to spot addresses or light up the side of a building. The spot optic will come in handy when you’re spotting addresses or looking for a mailbox. Simultaneously, the flood optic will give you throw so you’re able to light up the area you are working around or even the side of a building. In addition, our Trunnion mount allows the MiniBrow to be precisely aimed regardless of mounting location. You can enjoy full rotation flexibility from an ultra-low-profile housing. Let us know your thoughts on the trunnion mount below! 🤔

  • Don’t let small spaces keep you from putting a higher lumen light where you need it! 😎   We offer a Bezel Delete Kit for all of our FireTech Guardian full-size scene and warning lights that will remove the chrome bezel that normally comes with these fixtures.   What does this mean? About two inches of the fixture will be removed from both the vertical and horizontal footprint so you can fit the fixture in a smaller area constricted by design features on the rig.   Let us know what questions you have in the comments!

  • People ask us all the time, “How should I mount a MiniBrow double stack?” Here’s an option: Alexis Fire Equipment bent a bracket that attaches to the mounting material on the back of our light and bolted the fixture high on the body. This high mounting allows you to angle the light down and then light up an area around the apparatus. If you’re wanting to mount your MiniBrow double stack in the same way you should check out the Alexis PECM endcap mounting bracket!

  • We sent Sam, Joe, and Dan to Texas a few weeks ago for TEEX 2024 and asked them to film some videos for us while they were there. The result: these eight pictures. 🥴 We (the social media manager) took it upon ourselves to caption each photo for you to the best of our (the social media manager) ability. Rate our captions OR if you can think of even better ones, throw them in the comments. If you make us laugh hard enough we may even send you something (emphasis on maybe) 😳 P.S. How many demerits should we give them for not filming any videos?🤔
