📢 Significant milestone in the financial regulation landscape! The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has become the first financial regulator within the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) to unanimously approve the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking of the Financial Data Transparency Act (FDTA). 🌐 The FDTA aims to enhance transparency and accountability by requiring FSOC agencies to adopt specific data standards that ensure electronically reported information is searchable. Among the key provisions, the FDTA mandates the adoption of a common, non-proprietary, machine-readable legal entity identifier available under an open license. This is a major step towards improved data transparency and regulatory efficiency. 📊 ESRB Annual Report Highlights LEI Compliance in Europe The European Systemic Risk Board's (ESRB) 2023 annual report underscores the high compliance level among European authorities with the recommendation to promote and use the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI). The report assessed 85 supervisors, including national authorities, ESAs, and the European Central Bank (ECB).
