Today, Writer launched two new domain-specific models: Palmyra-Med-70B and Palmyra-Fin-70B. These models are a giant leap forward in the generative AI space and set a new standard for performance. Why domain-specific models? In highly regulated industries, where precision is paramount, generic AI solutions don’t cut it. You wouldn’t ask Ken Jennings for financial advice or medical guidance, and companies shouldn’t settle for a generic model to deliver on the highly complex needs of the finance and healthcare sectors. Palmyra-Med and Palmyra-Fin bring the specialization and accuracy world-class healthcare and finance companies need: Palmyra-Med-70b is now the most accurate model available on the market. Rigorous testing revealed an average accuracy of 85.9% across all medical benchmarks in a zero-shot attempt, dramatically surpassing the runner-up, Med-PaLM-2, which achieved 84% accuracy after six attempts. Palmyra-Fin-70b is the first model capable of passing the CFAⓇ Level III exam, aka "the world's hardest exam" and one of the highest distinctions in the investment management profession. In a long-fin-eval benchmark test, Palmyra-Fin outperformed Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, and Mixtral-8x7b — showcasing the model’s ability to analyze complex financial topics. These models are a testament to Writer’s commitment to pioneering new AI solutions. Combined with our full-stack platform, Palmyra-Med and Palmyra-Fin unlock impressive ways for organizations and developers to transform workflows and extract significant value.
