  • Here's what you may need to know about the latest update in employment law . . . In April, a new #FTC rule sought to ban most existing #noncompete agreements. Now, a federal district court in Texas has granted a limited preliminary injunction staying enforcement of the FTC's rule as additional lawsuits challenge enforcement of the new rule. Connect with Galloway employment lawyers Doris Bobadilla and Wendell Hall to learn more. For the full employment alert update, visit our website.

  • Exemplifying teamwork and dedication, the Galloway team in #Jacksonville, #Florida, secured a remarkable trial win in an auto accident transportation case in a challenging and unpredictable venue. Led by Director Autumn George, the entire team contributed to the positive outcome for our clients, who praised our team’s unwavering commitment to their case and business objectives.   Before the trial, the Plaintiff sought $15 million in damages. Tampa Director Sarah Baggett joined the team just a couple of weeks prior to trial, showcasing her exceptional dedication and support. Additionally, just days before the trial began, the team received over 4,000 pages of Social Security records revealing an extensive history of complaints in the same areas the Plaintiff claimed were injured in the accident, which was pivotal since liability had been admitted.   Autumn, Sarah, and Paralegal Kassy Branch meticulously reviewed the evidence, with Legal Assistant Cynthia Herrington dedicating hours at the Social Security office to retrieve crucial audio files from multiple hearings. Demonstrating Galloway’s commitment to going above and beyond, the Jacksonville team collaborated with Chief Technology Officer Barbara Noble to convert the antiquated government files into a usable audio format in time for cross-examination.   Autumn and her team pivoted their strategy and trial theme in real time based on the new Social Security evidence. Their resilience and determination were particularly evident during their compelling closing arguments, where the crucial Social Security audio served as the final key to victory.   The jury awarded the Plaintiff only $85,000, less than his medical bills, declined to award any damages for future care, and found that the Plaintiff did not suffer a permanent injury, resulting in no pain and suffering damages. Our clients deeply appreciated Galloway’s dedication, energy, and effort in producing this positive outcome. In Jacksonville, our team achieved another incredible victory while championing our clients and protecting their business.   We are proud of the entire team’s effort and dedication, proving once again that Galloway stands as a pillar of excellence and commitment to our clients’ success. #Transportation #TrialWin #FloridaLawyer #LegalExcellence #GallowayJohnsonTompkinsBurrSmith
