Today, Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced an innovative plan to address challenges created by the growing enrollment in Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). The plan commits $3 million to begin the design of a new elementary school, eases crowding at Oakdale Elementary school until the new school is built, and purchases land for future schools. School construction is a priority of the Fitzwater administration, and the county has long been working with State and FCPS partners to find creative solutions to solve school overcrowding.
