At Evans Consulting our mission is to create healthy organizations and communities where people thrive. It’s not just because it feels good - it’s backed by science. As noted in this Harvard Business Review piece: “Compared with people at low-trust companies, people at high-trust companies report: 74% less stress, 106% more energy at work, 50% higher productivity, 13% fewer sick days, 76% more engagement, 29% more satisfaction with their lives, 40% less burnout.”
Employees are happier and more productive when they're treated like adults at work.

Congratulations to Evans Senior Communications Consultant Sara Judith Gustafson on the release of her new children’s book, 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙖 𝙇𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙞𝙜 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨! Check it out ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eUS2usQi
Non-Fiction Ghostwriter, Copy Editor, and Book Coach | Senior Communications Consultant | Helping dreamers and doers tell their stories well.
I love holding just about any book in my hands (#bibliophile), but this one definitely hits different! Introducing my latest creative heart-venture: Drama Llama and the Big Feelings! I was inspired to write this when my eldest niece and nephew were two months old. They are now nearly two and a half years. Here are the top things I’ve learned (or re-learned) through the process of introducing this little llama to the world: - Children’s books (or any fully illustrated books) are far different than anything I’ve ever done before. This was a brand new market for me, so it’s been a crash course in art files, print quality, and marketing in a brand new way. They’re also way fun!! - Professional formatting help is key. I originally just planned to print a few dozen copies of the book for friends and family. Because I didn’t have big plans for it (that’s changed - I do now!), I chose to forego professional formatting and typesetting on this one. After fighting with file sizes and bleeds for nearly three weeks, I can now admit - big mistake. Professional expertise matters! - The self-publishing world takes time and patience. From finding the perfect illustrator to making all the creative edits to weighing the publishing and printing options (I decided to go with print-on-demand through IngramSpark) to uploading (and reuploading) print files to reviewing proofs . . . It’s a marathon, not a sprint. There truly is no “quick and dirty” way to get a book out there. - Perfect doesn’t exist, so let that expectation go right now. I am so proud of this little book and love it with all my heart, but there are still things I’d change or fix or do differently if I were starting from scratch. And that’s okay. I love it still. (If you read the book, you’ll get that last line 😉) And finally, a shameless plus: Great for infants, toddlers, and early readers, Drama Llama and the Big Feelings follows our little hero as he learns that all of his feelings are a-okay! Direct order link is in the comments, and it’ll be available through Amazon and Barnes and Noble soon! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I help dreamers and doers (and llamas) find their story and tell it well.
