The term "practice in a box" has been used for years, but usually it refers to practice management software, such as EHRs, scheduling, or billing. However, the term "practice" also refers to a business, and if you're running a business that delivers care (e.g. a practice), you're going to need a whole lot more in that box. It's for this reason why Ease created Stacks - pre-built templates combining modular front and back office components with digital health apps. Now take the Solo DPC Stack for example, which is built on the foundation of the Solo Medical Stack. As it provides the core infrastructure for managing care delivery virtually or in person for any solo medical practice. However, when you add "membership" from the Ease AppStore, it becomes a DPC practice. But it doesn't stop there. If you'd like to make it a group DPC practice, simply go to the AppStore, add Teams, update Launch (our incorporation service), setup and automate Team payroll, and you're done. No complicated legal paperwork, no developers, no APIs to manage, just hassle-free AI-powered software the way it should have always been. By combining Stacks + and AppStore ecosystem making it easy for practices to discover, purchase, and integrate digital health products, Ease creates a massive new market of thriving physician and clinician owned tech-enabled private practices. The future is private practice. It has been an honor to work with Mario Amaro, MD and the Ease team to build a strong foundation for Teku. I am so excited for what we are building to expand clinical reach to families often not served well by our medical system. Kids and family mental health must be prioritized to create healthy communities, nation and world. #mentalhealth #healthequity #pediatrics #familyengagement

Excellent write up by the team at Rock Health. I 100% agree that the market potential for pediatric care delivery is often overlooked, particularly in digital health. I'm really excited to see this space finally gain more attention and hopefully more funding. In 2023, the team at Ease had the pleasure to work with several incredible physician and clinician founders building pediatric focused practices. Here's 2 of them that you should definitely keep on your radar. Teku, which falls in the mental health and parenting category, is a tech-enabled mental health and family caregiver practice founded by triple board certified physician Barbara Robles-Ramamurthy out of San Antonio, Texas. The mission of Teku is to empower kids, parents, and families to better manage mental health through community, communication, and wellness. --- Sounds Good, which falls in the learning and developmental disorder support category, is a tech-enabled speech therapy practice founded by speech and language therapist Hession Hogan, MS, CCC-SLP out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sounds Good's mission is to become the national resource for families and kids to connect with their own voices. Make sure to give these two amazing clinician entrepreneurs a follow. #PrivatePractice #SelfEmployment #ClinicianFounders #HealthcareOnLinkedin

In a healthcare landscape dominated by insurance, Direct Primary Care (DPC) presents a compelling alternative. My latest article (link below!) takes a closer look at what happens when primary care physicians step away from insurance and the transformative effect it could have on patient care and costs. I dive into the core principles of DPC, its economic rationale, and the nuanced impact it may have on our healthcare system. For those intrigued by the prospect of a more direct, transparent healthcare experience, this read is for you. My group practice is just getting started, and I need to credential everyone before we begin seeing patients. Is there any advice on where to begin? Answer: The best place to begin is to first identify which payers are most commonly used in your area with the patient demographic you intend to serve. Once you've identified who you want to work with, create a checklist (similar to the one below) to start the credentialing process, our recommendation is to begin with the hard ones first. What do we mean by the hard ones? The payers that often take the longest to approve, e.g. Medicare and Medicaid. CHECKLIST 🔽 1. Business information: - EIN - Medical Malpractice coverage info - Business checking account info - Important if enrolling into electronic funds transfers - Phone number - Fax number - Business email address - Try not to use your personal email address as this information is often shared with 3rd parties - Business mailing address - Try not to use your personal mailing address as this information is often shared with 3rd parties and may be the address listed on payer marketplaces - Note that most payers do not accept PO Boxes - Group NPI - Don't have one, apply for one. Try not to use your personal NPI 2. Licensing information: - Licensing numbers (for all states) - DEA numbers - Make your CAQH profile accessible to payers by sharing your CAQH number during the enrollment process (very similar to your NPI number) - Don't have CAQH setup? - Visit the provider data portal and start adding your licensing and training documents ASAP. Try not to leave any of the fields blank before submission - It's important to know that certain states have different credentialing requirements and that you may need to register with other provider data portals in order to get credentialed (e.g. PECOs for Medicare) - PRO TIP, try not to miss deadlines for re-attestion as this could lead to delays in reimbursements once you're enrolled into a payer's plan 3. Accept and review contracts to get enrolled in a payer's plan - Verify all contracts are for the group and not your personal NPI - Conduct a review of reimbursements in your area to make sure that you're meeting at least the minimum - It's important to know that not all contracts enroll you into all plans that are being offered by the payer. So make sure you know exactly what plans your group is participating in prior to signing all payer contracts Credentialing is a lengthy process, and we totally understand why most physicians and clinicians don't enjoy it, but that's why we always recommend never going at it alone. Ease has partnered with BlueShift Medical Licensing, founded by JENNIFER LINCOLN, to help practice owners manage multi-state licensing and payer credentialing. #PrivatePractice #SelfEmployment #Fintech #BackOffice #Credentialing
