Yesterday was the annual ARRM Forward Conference & Expo in Prior Lake, Minnesota! ARRM is an association of more than 200 providers, businesses and advocates supporting thousands of people with disabilities. Our very own Anna Hegland is the new ARRM President and honored individuals from across the state in both the ARRM Cares and Rising Star categories. "People from all over Minnesota gathered to learn, build new connections, and to celebrate these amazing DSPs," shared Anna. "We're so fortunate to have people like Oscar, Keith and Murphy working for Dungarvin! A huge thanks to everyone who submitted a nomination, and to all the DSPs -- your thoughtful and inspiring work makes a difference every day." Keith and Murphy are finalists for the ARRM Cares Award, which recognizes professionals who provide direct care and demonstrate a commitment to quality services. Oscar was recognized as a Rising Star finalist, acknowledging exemplary professionals with under three years in the field. Congratulations to our Dungarvin individuals, you are WINNERS to us! - Murphy Cannon, ARRM Cares Award finalist - Keith Newcombe, ARRM Cares Award finalist - Oscar Boit, Rising Star Award finalist

The foundation of our work is to provide support to individuals in our care. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the backbone of our organization, working daily with these individuals. Bea Morehouse, Residential Program Coordinator, has spent her career lovingly building relationships with individuals for more than 20 years. Bea is a 2023 ARRM Cares Award winner recognized by our Minnesota association as a DSP who demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to quality services among her peers in the industry. Today, we invite you to watch this short clip and take a peek at a "Day in the Life" of a Direct Support Professional. See what makes Bea so special and why her role at Dungarvin is so important. If you are a DSP, or if you work alongside DSPs, let us know in the comments! #dungarvin #dungarvinway #dungarvincareers #directsupportprofessional #minnesota #dayinthelife

Congratulations to Jen Washington on her nomination as ANCOR DSP of the Year for the state of Wisconsin! "Seven is often referred to as a lucky number, and for seven years our agency and the people we serve have been lucky to have Jennifer Washington as a DSP," said her supervisor Brenna Antholt. "Jen exhibits compassion, commitment, loyalty, perseverance, and (of course) loyalty in all she does." Jen has the ability to work at almost every type of program -- and she has! Whether one with behavioral needs, or another supporting individuals with high medical needs, or a combination of both, Jen is always someone you can count on! During the years of the pandemic, keeping persons served active and engaged was a challenge. Though the pandemic has subsided, the effects at the time made it very difficult for individuals to have the routines they once had. "Day programming ceased and places to take persons served was limited," said Michael Leo, who nominated Jen for DSP of the Year. "Jen knew it was a time to get creative in order to maintain the well-being of those she served by keeping them active, alert, healthy, and happy. Jen deployed a number of activities, she would draw and color with people; she’d play music and start dancing. Really, she did it all!" We feel so fortunate that DSPs like you, Jen, are serving the Dungarvin mission! Thank you for all you do. #dungarvin #dungarvinway #dungarvincareers #wisconsin
