Benefits Administration Software
Disclo helps employers manage reasonable accommodation requests and health disclosures in one place — while staying compliant with HIPAA and ADA regulations in the USA, and globally applicable laws. The process of helping employees and candidates with accommodations has historically been fragmented and unclear. As a result, many qualifying employees and candidates don’t even request accommodations. Employees today are prioritizing their health needs at work, and privacy is a must-have. Disclo is on a mission to build safe, inclusive workplaces where those with disabilities and chronic conditions can thrive.

You'll want to stop scrolling for a second, because today is a very, very important day. #ADA34 🏛️ 🇺🇸 34 years ago today, the Americans with Disabilities Act (#ADA) was signed into law. For one in four Americans living with a disability, it is an essential life protection. July 26th is a special day to reflect on all our predecessors have accomplished to grant us the rights we have today. Notable is an event considered to be the tipping point of the ADA: the March 1990 "Capitol Crawl," where the mobility-limited made their way up the steps of the U.S. Capitol to fight for a livable future for the #disabled. New Mobility's Oral History of the event gives us an intimate look at the words of the very protestors who crawled. ⤵️ 💬 STEPHANIE THOMAS: At that time, Bob and I were national organizers for National ADAPT and we helped design the plan. During the rally, I got a group of people together who could crawl and were willing to get arrested... When Bob gave us our cue, we dropped from our chairs and started to crawl. Though I was the first to drop to the ground, I was quickly overtaken by the other crawlers. BOB KAFKA: I was further back but crawled also. At the time, we were both in manual chairs and more mobile than today. THOMAS: Thank God someone brought our wheelchairs to the top. KAFKA: The system people [disability advocacy lobbyists] were stalled. The ADA had gotten stuck in the House of Representatives, and they were not able to get it moving again. We wanted to show that “access is a civil right” is more than just words, that we were willing to take action. We wanted to make sure the statement we made was symbolic and visual. Today, let's find a way to show our willingness for action again— that “access is a #civil right” is more than just words. Our latest blog can show you how: https://lnkd.in/gQPH5449

It's easy to list the factors of a #toxic workplace, but are we always aware when we're in one? 🤔 In the modern age, companies evolve quickly. Often, the ones who've managed to cut corners in employee relations have already found new and more deceptive ways to foster a more hostile work environment than necessary. Ever been at a #DEI awareness training so out-of-touch Michael Scott could teach it? Or maintain meaningful and promising correspondence with dozens of recruiters who are just getting ready to ghost you? I know. It is truly so dire. But while companies are growing increasingly aware, people evolve even quicker. Rather than a sure-fire way to distract from those slashed promotions, the age-old "office pizza party" has become a universal, almost #meme-ified indicator of a company that isn't yet aware of its #dated morale initiatives. And girl, it's embarrassing. Stop cheating your employees out of an authentically inclusive work environment with our latest guides for #HR and business #leaders below. (Yes, I'm talking to you.) It's mid-#DisabilityPrideMonth! ☀ The sun is shining, businesses are pandering, and disability advocates are as vocal as ever. It's a great day to be a Disclonaut. This July, we're giving Disability Pride the celebration it deserves. See just some ways Disclo spends the season with our #insider stories, inclusive #pride events, and community-building initiatives. 🎉 My personal favorite has been the remote Disclo 5K. ("5K" was up to interpretation because we're inclusive, okay?) If your team recognizes disability pride, we'd love to know how! If you're looking for #DisabilityPride ideas, we've got a bunch in our latest blog. ➡ https://lnkd.in/gYwDfwny Let's celebrate together. 😉
