We’re looking forward to our next gathering at BLACKLIT. Make sure you get over there & support this amazing store.
What an unforgettable Saturday at BLACKLIT Bookstore! We had the immense pleasure of hosting a book discussion for the phenomenal CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, Cynt Marshall, thanks to the coordination by the National Black MBA Association - DFW Chapter . They put together a truly phenomenal literature series event that left us all inspired and grateful. We were discussing "You've Been Chosen," by Cynt Marshall, when we were surprised by Cynt herself, accompanied by her beautiful family. 😭 Her presence added a special layer to the afternoon, and we were all overjoyed to see her. Cynt's warmth, wisdom, and spirit are truly inspiring, and having her join us made the event unforgettable. I am particularly sentimental about this moment as a young Black woman CEO. The photo we captured of Cynt, her son, myself, and my son is one I will always treasure. It represents not only a beautiful surprise but also the power of community, leadership, and the bonds we share as we support and uplift one another. Thank you, Cynt Marshall for your incredible work and for making this day one for the books! 📚✨ #BLACKLITBookstore #LiteratureSeries #NationalBlackMBA #CyntMarshall #Inspiration #Community #Leadership #YouveBeenChosen #BookDiscussion #DallasMavericks #WomenInLeadership #BlackWomenCEOs #Grateful #UnforgettableMoments

National Black MBA Association - DFW Chapter reposted this
This weekend I had an opportunity to meet the POWERHOUSE that is Cynt Marshall and hear her speak about her book, "You've Been Chosen: Thriving Throught the Unexpected". Words cannot begin to describe the afternoon, but I want to say thanks so much to National Black MBA Association - DFW Chapter for making this happen. My signed copy is already up in my office!

🚀 What an unforgettable afternoon at our NBMBAA DFW Chapter quarterly literature series event at BlackLit! 📚✨ We were thrilled to dive into "You've Been Chosen" by Cynt Marshall, the first Black female CEO in the NBA, and a true inspiration. Our Vice President of Operations, Jodessa Bethelmie, and Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Director, Darryl Atwaters, M.Div., MBA, facilitated a phenomenal discussion on the book's key takeaways. Just as we were about to break into small groups, we were surprised and honored by the presence of Cynt Marshall herself, along with her devoted husband Kenny and youngest son Anthony. 🎉 Cynt joined Darryl on stage, sharing deeper insights into her journey, engaging with our members, and spreading her transparent, funny, and inspiring energy. She generously brought gifts for the attendees, autographed books, and took photos, making this an event we'll never forget. Thank you, Cynt and family, for "choosing us" today! 💖 For those who haven't read "You've Been Chosen" yet, we highly encourage you to pick up a copy. And if you're in the Dallas area, make sure to visit BlackLit for a fantastic selection of books by Black authors and other amazing merchandise. Stay tuned for our next literature series event this fall—you never know who might pop up and surprise us at a DFW Black MBAs event! 🌟📖 #Leadership #Inspiration #Community #BlackExcellence #DFWBlackMBAs #BlackLit #CyntMarshall

We were deeply saddened yesterday to learn about the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee, a remarkable advocate for racial equity and civil rights. Her tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to justice have left an indelible mark on Texas and our nation. As a champion for the marginalized, Congresswoman Jackson-Lee fought valiantly for the rights of all, ensuring that the voices of the unheard were amplified. Her legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire us in our pursuit of equity and justice. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee. May her spirit guide us as we continue her work, striving for a more just and equitable society. Rest in power, Congresswoman. Your impact will never be forgotten.
