This Earth month, Connexus® Energy is proud to partner with CATAN Studio —another innovative Minnesota-based organization—and provide solar renewable energy credits (SRECs) for the entire first run of their upcoming game CATAN: New Energies (kudos to Reid Hoffman, NPR, & Fast Company for their stories). These are the same pollinator-friendly SRECs that our residential and commercial members can buy as part of our Renewable Energy Club to certify 100% their electricity is pollinator-friendly solar. In addition, I’ll be joining CATAN Studio’s own Kelli Schmitz in Denver on June 11 at National Renewable Energy Laboratory with Jordan Macknick and my colleague Rob Davis for the Agrivoltaics World Conference (https://lnkd.in/g7Jw8RiA) to share a preview of the new game and talk about the importance of engaging community members throughout the power supply transition. Hope to see you there! Many thanks again to M-RETS and Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources for collaborating on pollinator-friendly SRECs. We were honored earlier this year to be the first electric cooperative recognized among the nation’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company magazine — their write-up highlighted our pollinator-friendly solar projects. https://lnkd.in/gUM2J5p4

We are excited to announce a fun new change in our Solarwise™ garden! Blueberries, raspberries, honeyberries, and gooseberries have been planted inbetween the solar panels by an agrivoltaic scientist for NREL. Thanks to our memebr, Big River Farms for coordinating as they also study for opportunities for emerging farmers to produce locally grown berry crops. 🍓
