Connect Airlines has demonstrated above and beyond that it more than meets the requirements to earn its FAA Air Carrier Certification (ACC).   Nearly a year since Connect completed 150 hours of proving test flights with FAA personnel on board, the airline remains without a certification. The FAA has ignored repeated requests to work together to resolve any issues, and won’t accept third-party validation of the airline’s ability or even the opinion of some staff in its agency.   From this situation, Connect has had to file an appeal to maintain its Department of Transportation (DoT) issued certificate, essentially its business license. The DoT was moved to pull it after being advised by the FAA that the FAA had terminated Connect’s certification process. Yet when asked on November 30th by a FlightGlobal journalist the FAA responded that they do not comment on “ongoing certification projects”.    Connect has a clear plan to provide more competition for travelers, and within a few years become the first airline in North America to fly zero-emission aircraft. Connect has done everything required, it’s time for the FAA to work with us to see this properly completed.
