About us
Mission Statement: Code of Support Foundation (COSF) provides essential and critical one-on-one assistance to struggling service members, veterans and their families (SMVF) who have the most complex needs. We are dedicated to leveraging the nation’s full spectrum of resources to ensure all members of our military, veterans and their families receive the support services they need and through their collective sacrifice have earned. Our Vision: "They Stood For Us. Let's Stand With Them." Our vision is that civilian America, military America and support organizations come together to strengthen the health of our nation, and ensure that service members, veterans and their families share in the quality of life that they have earned and that all Americans deserve. Background: The Code of Support Foundation was established in 2010 by Major General (RET) Alan B. Salisbury with the goal of bridging the growing divide of understanding and engagement between our military and civilian communities. Working with a dedicated team of retired military and civilian leaders, he developed the “Code of Support” for our troops as a parallel document to the Military “Code of Conduct” in which service-members pledge that they are prepared to give their lives in defense of our country. The Code of Support is a set of six meaningful commitments all American’s can make to give meaning to the words, “support our troops.”

Happy #HireAVeteranDay! It can be a struggle for veterans to communicate how their military experience translates to civilian experience. So, employers, take a moment to look at the invaluable skills, adaptability, and leadership abilities that veterans bring to the table. You won't regret it! 🙌 #veterancareers #veteransupport #hireaveteran

Major League Baseball (MLB) is a longtime supporter of our nation's veterans and many players throughout its history have served in the United States military. It is wonderful to see Major League Baseball (MLB) live out their commitment to veterans by honoring G. Shigeru Higashioka, WWII veteran and grandfather of San Diego Padres player, Kyle Higashioka. 👏
Yesterday, Padres catcher Kyle Higashioka was presented a replica of the Congressional Gold Medal at the National Museum of the US Army in honor of his grandfather, G. Shigeru Higashioka, who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II. A special thank you to retired General Eric Shinseki, Chair of The Army Historical Foundation, for presiding over the ceremony, and to the National Veterans Network for the partnership in making this special day happen for Kyle and his family.

#MissionMonday: When we take veterans out of crisis, they can focus on moving forward. ⬇️ Maria, a post-9/11 veteran lost her job and fell behind on car and insurance payments. We got her current on all payments so that she could catch her breath and attend job interviews stress-free. Ultimately, this allowed her to move forward and get back on her feet. 🙌 We actively remove barriers (just like those in Maria's story) that keep veterans from living full, healthy lives. codeofsupport.org/get-help #casecoordination #patriotlink #veteransupport #summerofsupport #codeofsupport

What a great resource for caregivers! 👏 Check it out. ⬇️
The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is proud to bring Mental Health First Aid training to caregivers, facilitated by Natasha Swayze and Shawn Moore, both LMSW. This groundbreaking skills-based course gives people the tools to identify, understand, and respond to someone who might be struggling with a mental health or substance use challenge — and connect them with appropriate support and resources when necessary. Join us on July 24 and 26, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm CST for this informative training. The training is free and is limited to the first 30 registrations. Please fill out the registration here. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e-b2hicx Once the registration is received, we will then send you a link to access the Mental Health First Aid portal where you will set up your account and access the materials needed. This course requires two hours of prep time, and you must attend both sessions to receive the Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
