“Kuch kaam dhund raha hun” (I am looking around for some work/job) - means different things in different parts of India, amongst different communities. In the East, it signifies a young individual seeking salaried employment, aspiring for a career in sales, production, or joining as a Management Trainee at a multinational corporation. On the contrary, in many parts of the West, it implies the aspiration to start a business, especially among bright individuals who kickstart entrepreneurial journeys with minimal capital. Traditionally, children in the East aspire to become Engineers or MBA professionals, often aiming to work for their entrepreneurial counterparts in the West, holding prestigious designations after a couple of decades. However, the rise of the Start-Up culture, particularly in the tech sector, has disrupted this norm. Young Start-Up Entrepreneurs now have the potential to build and scale their ventures within 5-10 years, contrasting the traditional 25-30 year timeframe for brick and mortar businesses. India boasts a rich heritage of entrepreneurial talent, which faced setbacks during colonial rule. Yet, with the advent of Telecom, Internet, Mobile Internet, and Cheap Data, the entrepreneurial landscape has transformed. Indians now leverage their intellectual capabilities to create fast-growing start-ups, contributing significantly to the nation's progress. For India to achieve its goal of becoming one of the world's top 3 economies, it is imperative that Start-Ups receive robust support and encouragement from the government and financial institutions. These innovative ventures can play a pivotal role in propelling India forward and serve as a powerhouse for the nation's advancement. Looking ahead to progressive policies from the new government at the Center to propel our Start-Ups to greater heights. #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurialtalent #startups #techstartups

I am thrilled to share that I have achieved the LinkedIn Top Badge for Entrepreneurship, following closely on the heels of receiving the Top Badge of Customer Relationship Management. Transitioning from a corporate veteran to a Silicon Valley Entrepreneur, my journey has been shaped by my alma mater, UC Berkeley HAAS School of Business, where I honed my entrepreneurial skills at a pivotal stage in my career. Having held a high-ranking corporate position in a major conglomerate, I made the bold decision to venture into entrepreneurship, despite concerns from my family. Embracing the challenge, I left behind the comfort of my corporate life and embarked on a transformative path. Inspired by Ray Croc, the Founder of McDonald’s, who transitioned to entrepreneurship at the age of 53, I have embraced the power of persistence. Over the past five years, I have navigated failures, pivots, and challenges to nurture and grow CLEANOMATICS. While the journey is ongoing, I am confident in the direction ahead. Onward and upwards from here!

Have you ever wondered why it's said that "it's lonely at the top"? Let me share an interesting story that my professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business had narrated to me about Nelson Mandela. During the return trip from a political rally in South Africa, the aircraft carrying Mandela and his team encountered a major storm, which caused the passengers to scream and pray for survival. However, Mandela calmly turned the pages of a newspaper and smiled reassuringly at a young lady reporter who was staring at him in disbelief. After the crisis had passed, the reporter asked Mandela how he remained so calm and composed. His response was simple, "If I had shown worry on my face, would my team have survived the crisis or would the pilot have been able to do his job with full calm and composure?" The essence of the story is that leaders are supposed to act as superheroes in the face of acute crisis and never let their emotions out. They are truly lonely at the top because they have to keep it together for the sake of their team and followers. What do you think ? As graduation season approaches, we're reminded of the tradition of throwing our caps into the air. This simple act represents so much more than just a fun photo-op. It symbolizes our transition from student to graduate, and our readiness to embrace new challenges and opportunities. The cap itself is a representation of our academic achievement, once worn proudly during countless hours of learning. But when we release it into the air, it becomes a symbol of liberation from the constraints of academia. This tradition dates back to 1912 when Naval Academy graduates tossed their old midshipmen hats into the air to celebrate their new officer hats. Since then, it has become a staple of commencement ceremonies across the country. So as you toss your cap into the air, remember all that it represents. Embrace the challenges that lie ahead, and know that you are ready for whatever comes next. “The ball is now in your hands “. You are now equipped to impact your circle of influence in more ways than one . And you are part of the UC Berkeley College of Engineering and UC Berkeley Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership community! Congratulations, graduates! #classof2024 #ucberkeley #graduation #achievement Congratulations to Apratim Banerjee ! You make us proud. . Preeti Banerjee

Congratulations Apratim Banerjee and the entire team for this remarkable Capstone project completion and showcase . We at Team CLEANOMATICS are super proud of your and your team’s achievements. My two cents on this project - Large Language Models (LLMs) can significantly impact robotics by enabling robots to execute complex tasks in dynamic environments. For instance, the development of 'The Large Language Multi-tasking Optimizer (LLaMO)' for Agility Robotics' Digit demonstrates how LLMs can guide robots in task decomposition, action generation, and optimization, achieving high success rates and operational efficiency in sectors like manufacturing, e-commerce, and logistics. Growing up as a kid, I loved watching sci-fi movies. I imagined a day when robots and humans would coexist and talk to each other. I could never have imagined working on this dream one day to make this possible! Over the last year, my team and I worked very hard on Agility Robotics' Digit - a humanoid robot automating the Manufacturing, Ecommerce, and the Logistics sectors. Our main goal was to make the robot understand natural human language. We utilized #LargeLanguageModels (LLMs) like OpenAI's #ChatGPT to guide Digit in executing intricate tasks in dynamic real-world environments. While LLMs excel at basic action planning for robotics, they often struggle with the nuances of real-world scenarios and efficient decomposition of complex instructions. To overcome these challenges, we developed "The Large Language Multi-tasking Optimizer (LLaMO)," a sophisticated framework that decomposes tasks and optimizes the execution sequence. It follows a three-step process: 🧠 Task Decomposition 🤖 Action Generation 📊 Shortest Pathfinding Optimization We achieved significant results from our work: 🏆 Significantly reduced redundant actions. 📈 Achieved an impressive 94% success rate, outperforming existing competition. 🔄 The framework consistently required fewer action nodes to accomplish tasks, reducing operational costs. 🧠 It was able to prioritize tasks based on real-time data such as adjusting the service based on the situation. This is a significant step in the ongoing robot-human-interaction research. A big shout-out to my team Shiyun Huang Yuan Zhang Tianqi Zeng for their incredible contribution, and the University of California, Berkeley for providing me with this wonderful opportunity! The potential of #LLMs in #robotics is immense and I'm excited for what's to come! Feel free to reach out for more details on my work. #UCBerkeley #Robotics #ArtificialIntelligence #Innovation #FutureOfWork #Robothumaninteraction #LLM #Machinelearning #Softwaredevelopment

Congratulations Apratim Banerjee & team for this excellent project demonstration at the UC Berkeley College of Engineering . It was awesome to see the UI/UX design of Mangalingua . UI Design and Development significantly impacts app creation by ensuring the application is user-friendly and meets the needs of its target audience. In the creation of Mangalingua, a language learning app, your team prioritized standard UI/UX practices and heuristic evaluations. This approach facilitated a seamless user experience, enabling effective learning through engaging content. Aarti Mathur you might wish to check out the UI UX of Mangalingua . Mangalingua assists Japanese language learners by translating manga pages into English, overlaying the translation on the original text. It uses AI for accurate text recognition and translation, capturing key vocabulary, nuances, and phrases specific to manga. This allows users to create personalized word banks for reference and learning, enhancing their understanding of the Japanese language through engaging comic book content. Team CLEANOMATICS joins me in extending our heartiest congratulations for this achievement . Soumaneel Konar Preeti Banerjee

Exciting update! Just wrapped up my final project demo for CS160 at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, and it's been quite the journey! 🚀 In the class "UI Design and Development", our team worked very hard to create "Mangalingua" - an AI Translator and Language Learning App. Mangalingua is designed with Japanese comic book enthusiasts in mind, offering a seamless experience for Japanese language learners. With this app, users can upload manga pages which is translated into English, with the translated text seamlessly overlaying the original. The app leverages AI to identify key vocabulary, nuances, and phrases specific to the comic book genre, allowing users to build their own personalized word bank for easy reference and learning. Here's some key takeaways: 🎨 Prioritized adherence to standard UI/UX practices and ensured that Heuristic Evaluations were followed. 🔍 Our tech stack included Optical Character Recognition (OCR) models and Open Computer Vision (OpenCV) for accurate text recognition. 🧠 Using GPT APIs, we translated the text to English. We also captured verbs and nuanced expressions, transforming them into word cards that users can save to their personal word bank. It's been an incredible journey bringing Mangalingua to life, and I'm grateful for the learning and opportunities this class presented. Special mentions to my team members Michelle Wu, Chia-Jung Kuo, and Yuhan Chen, without which this project would not have been a success. Thank you!🌟 Feel free to view more details in my github repo, where you can run the application locally and test it out yourself! https://lnkd.in/gn8b_tDb #TeamWork #SoftwareDevelopment #UI #UX #UCBerkeley #EECS #Engineering #LanguageLearning #AI #Translation #AppDevelopment
