Discover how the introduction of National Health Insurance (NHI) is fostering the institutionalization of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in South Africa! South Africa has mainly used HTA processes for selecting essential medicines, particularly over the past two decades. HTA processes have yet to be incorporated in the same way in decisions for other technologies and interventions such as equipment, health care education, and diagnostics.
