Semen Kulyk is a Ukrainian war refugee, who - after a long and dangerous journey - found his way to Home of Carlsberg, where he takes care of our brewery horses. And he's one of the best coachmen we've had 🐴     It wasn't a given that Semen should end up in Denmark, let alone in the stables of Carlsberg. However, with a childhood filled with memories of his family's horses and a tragic reason to leave his home country, this is how his fate ultimately unfolded.   Upon arriving in Denmark after travelling 6000 kilometers, he landed an internship at the Royal Stables, where the horses of the Royal Danish family lives and trains. It was quickly rumored that Semen was an absolute natural in taking care of the majestic animals - calm, collected, kind. Which meant that of course, we wanted to offer him a job.   "When I arrived in Denmark, I couldn’t even imagine that I would work with horses here. Københavns Erhvervshus helped me get an internship at the Royal Stables. After the internship, I came to Home of Carlsberg, where I met amazing colleagues who helped me with all things. After a while, I was given the opportunity to learn something new. I liked it, and I tried harder. That’s how I became a coachman," he says.   Thank you Semen, for taking such good care of our furry colleagues.   #PeopleofCarlsberg

Carlsberg and Brooklyn Brewery launch first ever beer with drought-resistant fonio grain instead of barley 🌾🍻 To spotlight the ancient West African grain, fonio, and its untapped brewing potential, Carlsberg has created a brand-new type of beer that uses only fonio grains, without the use of any barley or bittering hops. The grain, which has thrived in West Africa for over 5,000 years and is widely used in African cooking, can survive in poor soils and is drought-resistant. The new Fonio beer was brewed in collaboration with Brooklyn Brewery as part of its ‘Brewing for Impact’ campaign. The new brew demonstrates what can be achieved when new brewing techniques and ingredients meet curiosity, a mindset that has been at the forefront of everything Carlsberg has done since it opened the brewery doors in 1874. “Fonio is an amazing West African grain but it presented several technical challenges for us to learn from and overcome - especially as there are no recipes for a beer like this. However, the extremely clean, crisp beer we’ve made is sure to set curious minds ablaze as we continue to test the potential of fonio in brewing and beyond,” says Zoran Gojkovic, Director of Brewing Science & Technology, Carlsberg Research Lab. Don't Drink & Fish! Carlsberg Sweden asks people to choose alcohol-free when fishing in a new campaign 🎣 Fishing is the largest leisure activity in Sweden, a country with one of the world's longest coastlines. But fishing under the influence can lead to accidents, so Carlsberg Sweden is encouraging their countrymen to choose alcohol-free when they hit the waters. Together with the Swedish lure master, Claes Claesson ("Svartzonker”), the team has developed a unique fishing lure designed as a drunk fisherman with a realistic staggering motion in the water. A DrunkenBait, simply put. "Can you hook a big pike with a drunk fisherman lure? We are convinced it's possible, but that is not why we created this lure. The real purpose of DrunkenBait is to serve as a warning symbol. As one of Sweden’s leading breweries, we must promote and contribute to responsible consumption," says Casper Danielsson, Director of Corporate Affairs at Carlsberg Sweden. The initiative is a collaboration with Sportfiskarna, Sveriges Sportfiske- och Fiskevårdsförbund (Sweden’s Sport Fishing and Fisheries Conservation Association), a non-profit organization that organizes more than 73,000 sport fishers. Cutting corners to cut packaging waste. Quite literally 💁♀️   Sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot to make an impact, and if you're a large-scale producer of packaging, even seemingly small changes matter!   Carlsberg Poland is the most recent market to trial a new multipack format with round corners, developed together with DS Smith.   Initial testing shows that the rounded corner design reduces the empty space of the box by 4.2% and makes the box almost 17% lighter than one with 90 degree corners. This design shift could reduce the amount of cardboard needed by more than 300 tons a year once fully implemented!   Carlsberg Poland is currently trialing Round Wrap packaging for their Carlsberg, Garage, and Somersby beer product ranges.   Why be square 🎉🍻 Learn more about our targets #TowardsZERO Packaging Waste: https://lnkd.in/dsD76t8m #Packaging #Innovation

Two icons in French brewing joins forces, as the Carlsberg Group owned Brasserie Kronenbourg and Brasserie du Pays Flamand announce strategic partnership 👏   Famous for its Anosteké beer, the Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in 2006 by two childhood friends.   The brewery shares a strong ambition for sustainable growth in the Premium beer sector with its much older compatriot, Brasserie Kronenbourg, which recently celebrated 360 years.   By signing this partnership, the two breweries accelerate the deployment of the emblematic Anosteké brand throughout the French market and, to a lesser extent, the Bracine brand, while increasing production capacity from the current 70,000 HL to 200,000 HL within 5 years.   The joint plan for 2030 includes an investment package of €25 million and a minority stake by Brasseries Kronenbourg, which should create several dozen jobs.   "Today, we need to go one step further and invest massively in our production facilities to meet the demands of our customers throughout France. We also want to maintain our quality standards and continue to develop tasty recipes," says Olivier Duthoit, co-founder of BRASSERIE DU PAYS FLAMAND.   Image from left to right: Brasserie du Pays Flamand founder Olivier Duthoit, Managing Director of Kronenbourg, Anders Røed, Brasserie du Pays Flamand founder Mathieu Lesenne. #Kronenbourg #Anosteke #Brasseriedupaysflamand
