Sen. Cynthia Lummis predicted at a gathering of original cryptocurrency fans today that Sen. Tim Scott would chair the Senate Banking Committee if Republicans took control of the Senate in this upcoming election. That would mean a shift in the vision for regulation of all sorts of financial matters, particularly the $1.3 trillion Bitcoin economy, which Scott promised to treat with a "light touch."

The White House on Friday announced that agencies are ahead of schedule on AI executive order work and hit all of their July 26 deadlines. The big picture: The executive branch — not Congress — is in the driver's seat for federal AI regulation. If the majority of tasks in the executive order are completed before a potential Trump administration, they would have a much harder time repealing it. It is basically impossible to get a reservation at Din Tai Fung Restaurant Group NYC at the moment. Friends have been texting me like I have some sort of magic wand — I wish!! 😩 The largest-ever location of the global dim sum chain held its grand opening last week and I grabbed Albert Yang, EVP and head of North America operations, after the ribbon cutting ceremony to get his thoughts on the wild demand: "We're blessed to have such a strong customer base and we have a responsibility to be able to share this experience with as many people as we can," he told me. Albert, his brother and his family have been busy this summer with another opening as well — in Anaheim. Bouncing back and forth between the coasts and managing hundreds of people to be trained in the DTF way is a job I'm particularly curious to learn more about. Aren't you? One of my servers originally from San Diego shared with me that he would be posted in the NYC location for about a month to help get the new place humming. My story @ Axios: https://lnkd.in/eygivEWM
