Atlas uses data to empower industries with foresight into their environmental footprints. From identifying key impacts to optimizing resource use and pioneering sustainable practices — our approach ensures actionable insights that drive positive change. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the completion of a comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Scorecard for a group of industrial facilities in San Antonio! Led by Staff Scientist Jessica Kegel Hoy, Energy Engineer Tammy Rykal, CEM, and Sustainability Coordinator Kennedy Cross this project evaluated each building’s level of climate risk, energy and water efficiency, and environmental impact. Our unique ESG Scorecard integrates elements of an ESG Assessment, GHG Emissions Study, Climate Risk Review, and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Energy Audit, delivering clients a clear snapshot of performance, risk indicators, and actionable recommendations in one comprehensive report. This innovative approach empowers businesses to understand their environmental footprint and strategically advance towards sustainability. 🌱 Huge kudos to Jessica, Tammy and Kennedy for their exceptional work on this critical project. At the heart of any successful project lies rigorous quality control, and for the Sound Transit F200 Federal Way Link Extension, anchor bolt pull testing is just one of the essential quality control measures that Atlas performs. These tests evaluate the strength and reliability of anchor bolts embedded in concrete and other substrates, ensuring they can withstand the forces they will encounter in their final application. Pull testing also ensures that all anchor points are capable of supporting the intended loads throughout the structure’s lifespan — and is a key component in verifying that the anchors meet stringent life and safety requirements. Our dedicated inspection staff — Zach McDonald, Aaron Hisel-Ritz, and Spencer Wells — are working tirelessly to fulfill contractors’ needs. Take a look below to see them in action, working late to keep this project on schedule. #QualityExcellence #SoundTransitF200 #AnchorBoltTesting

The 2024 AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) Committee on Bridges and Structures (COBS) annual meeting in Indianapolis was a success! Our National Practice Team Manager of Structural Engineering, Bill DuVall, and Senior Bridge Engineer, Randall B. Mullins PE, had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders about the latest advancements in bridge design and construction. COBS plays a pivotal role in advancing bridge and structural engineering by establishing guidelines, standards, and best practices for the design, construction, and maintenance of various transportation-related structures. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the AASHTO Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) Bridge Design Specifications, COBS ensures that these critical documents set the basis of design using state-of-the-art practices. COBS also champions research and the integration of new technologies and materials, promoting innovation that enhances the safety, reliability, and longevity of our infrastructure. Their standards often serve as the foundation for state and federal regulations, ensuring widespread adoption and impact. Through the promotion of cutting-edge materials, technologies, and methods, COBS continues to drive progress in the field of bridge engineering, setting the stage for a safer, more resilient future. #Engineering #BridgeDesign #StructuralEngineering #AASHTO #Innovation #Safety
