AmeriCorps in Action
About us
As a nonprofit organization, we’ve been growing since the early 2000s when our first program, Reading Corps, launched in 2003. Math Corps followed in 2008 and since then we’ve grown to offer programs nationally. Today we offer evidence-based AmeriCorp programs in three focus areas: education, environment and healthy futures. We’re leaders and innovators in national service and employ 200 employees across the country. Together we support more than 2,000 AmeriCorps members as they serve their communities and make an incredible collective impact.

With more than 2,000 tutors on the ground at over 1,900 sites, Reading Corps, Math Corps, and Early Learning Corps are the largest high-impact tutoring programs in the country! As our 20th school year winds down, we want to thank you for being a part of this incredible work. Together, we’ve supported 65,000 students this academic year alone! We're a week away from launching the 2024 cohort of Summer Impact Corps! Last year, Debra used her service with Summer Impact Corps to gain experience working with young students as she prepared to become a speech-language pathology assistant. But even before that chapter of her professional life, she's been a lifelong learner with a fascinating history. Check out her story at the link below. https://lnkd.in/gBbbhqgB

AmeriCorps members signed up to serve Minnesota communities in a variety of positions across the state. This year, the program has hired over 300 people to join us again and make an impact. Chief Advancement Officer Lindsay Dolce had the opportunity to talk about our proven tutoring programs – Reading Corps, Math Corps and Early Learning Corps – and what sets them apart in the latest "Rick Hess Straight Up" at Education Week. "First, it’s all about data. 'Data-based' is a buzzword now, but we have spent 20 years monitoring and adapting our programs to best meet students’ and educators’ needs." Read more about our approach, and how it is working for kids and schools, by checking out the full story linked below.
