A vertically integrated producer of a better red meat, American Ostrich Farms strives to increase awareness of the resource intensity of food so consumers can make enlightened, healthy choices for themselves AND the planet. Ostrich tastes like a delicious, lean filet mignon, but leaves a fraction of the environmental footprint – compared to beef, ostrich uses 1/3 the fresh water, 1/50 the land, and emits less than 1/10 the GHGs per pound produced.

  • AOF Is Now Partnering With A Local Brewery 🍺🌾 We’ve partnered with Payette Brewing, Boise's go-to for classic local brews, to upcycle the brewery’s spent grain. AOF is now mixing its own locally-sourced feed blend for our ostriches, boosting their health and well-being. 🌾 Payette Brewing has been voted “Best Brewery” in Boise Weekly’s poll every year since 2012, and their commitment to philanthropy is truly inspiring. Through initiatives like “Kegs 4 Kause” and Payette Forward, they've supported countless nonprofits and important causes. Located by the Boise River, Payette’s Tap Room offers twenty beers on tap, local wine and cider, and a family-friendly Beer Garden with yard games, food trucks, and live music.   • AOF Attends Mountain Meat Summit ⛰️🥩 AOF Marketing Manager, Jessica Roth, attended the Mountain Meat Summit in Bozeman, Montana. This summit is all about advancing market opportunities, building connections, and supporting collective skills development and learning across many segments and scales of the Mountain West’s meat supply chain. AOF learned about exciting new tech solutions for small and medium-scale producers, funding opportunities for expanding sustainable farming practices, and creative ways to merchandise and market the whole animal. The two-day summit was a crash course in the most important issues and opportunities faced by independent producers, processors, retailers, and other industry segments. “It was heartening - and inspiring - to meet so many fellow innovative industry members actively engaged in securing the future of America’s agri-food sector with a spirit of collaboration and a focus on both economic and environmental sustainability,” Roth says.  Thank you to the Mountain Meat Summit for hosting such a great conference!     About 90 lbs. Of Lamb Meat Later… We had the absolute honor of being a sponsor for the Heritage Fire Tour in Tampa 🔥🍴. We supplied primo American lamb (yes, we sell lamb meat along with ostrich meat) to Chef Daniel Almodovar and his team for this epic event. This partnership was made possible by our sister company, Sustainable Meats, who supports local farms by offering slaughter, processing, and packaging services. Their dedication and innovation in the culinary arena was truly inspiring. Despite falling just four votes short of victory in the showdown against Tampa's culinary giants, their performance was nothing short of legendary. The market is located off Shoreline Drive, where customers can experience the exceptional taste of ostrich meat firsthand and learn more about this healthy red meat.
